There are many choices and paths we take in life, and leaving my comfort zone and the toxic environments I was in at the time opened up opportunities I never could have imagined. Meeting Linda and Daryl was always meant to be part of my journey, and I’m forever grateful it was.

Daryl, thank you for sharing your knowledge and for shaping me into the barber I am today. The lessons you taught me go far beyond just barbering; they showed me the importance of pride in my craft, connection with people, and building something that feels like family.

To me, a barbershop is never just about haircuts. It’s about community, relationships, and creating a space where people feel seen and valued. That’s the tradition I carry into my own shop every single day, and it’s what makes this more than a career—it’s a passion and a purpose.

If you’ve ever sat in my barber chair or know me personally, you’ll know that I’m deeply passionate about advocating for men’s mental health. It’s an honour to give back to my community and support such an important cause.

A big thank you to The Barkley Hotel for hosting this incredible event—I’m truly grateful to be part of it! I hope to see you all there, and of course, don’t forget to stop by for a fresh cut.

The barkly hotel has sadly lost a number of regulars/friends & family due to mental health and we feel we need to start doing more! So we are organising a mental health day.
This is something that is very important to us and we know our community feels very passionate about mental health as well.
This event has made us realise how amazing our community really is. We have talented barbers who will be donating their time & skills to give our men free hairs cuts. We have amazing live singers who will be playing from 3pm and we will have the awesome Tonka who has agreed to be a mental health speaker. We also have raffles and all proceeds will be going to them men’s shed here in the Isa. If anyone would like to donate anything to go towards the raffles please get in contact with us on 07 4744 7777

It is not weak to speak and we want to show everyone that the barkly is here and the community is here to offer any support or information that you may need to becoming a happier & healthier you.
