Acne gets treated like a surface problem more often than it should be.

In reality, what's visible on the skin is usually the end result of something happening below it, oil production, inflammation, bacteria, sometimes hormones, all interacting in ways that differ from person to person. That's part of why the same cleanser or serum can work brilliantly for one person and do almost nothing for another, they're not necessarily dealing with the same underlying cause at all.

Getting the cause right matters more than switching products every few weeks hoping for a different outcome. If that's the cycle you've been stuck in, a consultation is a better place to start than another product recommendation from someone who hasn't actually looked at your skin. Link in bio.

People often describe facial change in one word, as if it's a single thing happening evenly across the whole face. It isn't.

Different areas change for different reasons, at different speeds, and the actual driver, fat, bone, muscle, or some combination, matters a great deal for understanding what's happening and why. This is exactly where my background in head and neck anatomy comes in, I'm not looking at your face as one vague concept, I'm looking at which specific structure is actually shifting.

That level of detail is what an assessment is for, not a guess based on how a face "should" look at a certain age. If you're curious what's actually going on with your own structure, that's a consultation conversation. Link in bio.

Radiofrequency skin tightening uses controlled heat to stimulate collagen production in the skin's deeper layer. More collagen over time means skin that holds its structure a little better, that's what it's actually doing.
What it can do: support skin firmness and structure gradually, over a course of sessions, as collagen rebuilds.

What it can't do: reposition fat, rebuild bone structure or address volume loss. Those are different anatomical changes entirely, and this isn't the right tool for any of them.

It's also not instant. Collagen remodelling happens over weeks and months, not minutes, which is why this is approached as a course rather than a single session judged on the spot.

Laxity itself is one of the most normal things a face experiences over a lifetime, that's simply how skin behaves as it ages. This treatment isn't about reversing that. It's about supporting collagen production within it, at a realistic pace.

There's an unspoken timeline a lot of people feel pressure to keep up with, like ageing is supposed to happen on some universal schedule and falling behind or ahead of it means something's wrong.
It doesn't work like that, and honestly, it was never going to.

Genetics, sun exposure, stress, sleep, hormones, all of it plays out differently for every single person, which is exactly why comparing your skin to anyone else's, at any age, is a pretty pointless exercise. Skin isn't running on a schedule. It's running on your life.

What actually matters is understanding your own skin, what it's doing, why it's doing it, and what, if anything, you want to do about that. Not chasing a version of "on track" that was never yours to begin with.

If you want to understand where your skin is actually at, rather than where you think it's supposed to be, that's a consultation conversation. Link in bio.

Five things I say to almost every client before any cosmetic procedure, regardless of what's actually being done.

One, this is a process, not an event. Skin responds gradually, and expecting an immediate, dramatic shift usually just sets you up for disappointment.

Two, suitability comes before enthusiasm. If something isn't right for your skin, I'll say so, even if you've come in specifically asking for it.

Three, your history matters more than your goals. What you're hoping for is important, but your medical background, medications and current skin condition decide what's actually possible.

Four, ask the uncomfortable questions. What can go wrong, what the downtime really looks like, what happens if it doesn't suit you, all of it. A good consultation should be able to answer these honestly.

Five, results vary, and that's not a disclaimer I say to cover myself, it's just true. Skin is individual, and anyone promising an identical outcome to what you saw online isn't being straight with you.

Pigment is one of the most commonly misread concerns I see in consultation.

People often assume every mark is sun damage, and sometimes that's true, but not always. Hormonal pigment behaves differently to sun induced pigment, and treating the wrong cause the wrong way can leave people frustrated with no real change to show for it. Getting the cause right matters more than the treatment itself, honestly.

Having more than one regenerative option on the list isn't about giving you more things to choose from at random.

It's so the plan can actually match the skin in front of me, rather than fitting every client into whatever's newest or most talked about. Some people are a clear fit for one. Some benefit from a conversation about both. Neither is a default, and I'd rather talk you out of something that isn't right than talk you into something that is trending.

If you're weighing these up, bring the question into consultation rather than guessing online. Link in bio.

Skin doesn't usually announce it needs attention.

It just quietly stops responding the way it used to.

Products that used to work suddenly feel like they're doing nothing. Texture feels different under your fingers, even if nothing looks dramatically different in the mirror. Your routine hasn't changed in years, but your skin has, seasons, hormones, stress and age all shift things gradually. You're layering more products trying to fix a feeling, rather than actually knowing what's causing it.

None of this means something's gone wrong. It usually just means it's time for someone to actually look, properly, and recalibrate from there.

Prep matters more than people expect, and it's usually the boring, unglamorous stuff that makes the biggest difference.

Skin that's sun exposed, over exfoliated or dehydrated going into a session simply doesn't respond the same way as skin that's been given a proper lead up.

It's not about doing anything dramatic beforehand, it's about giving your skin the best possible starting point, and most of it comes down to habits you're probably already capable of, just in the days right before your appointment rather than any other time.

It's also worth remembering that "appropriate for your skin" isn't a box ticked once and forgotten. Medications change, skin changes, circumstances change, which is part of why this conversation happens fresh at each consultation rather than being assumed from a previous visit.

If you've got a session coming up and you're not sure what applies to you specifically, ask us. Link in bio.
