“A Gentle Place for the Women You Love".

There is something pretty special about looking after our elderly ladies.

If you have an elderly mum, grandmother, or dear older friend who deserves a little pampering, my home salon is a quiet, nurturing space created just for women in their later years.

I specialise in caring for mature and elderly clients — women who may feel more comfortable with slow, gentle treatments, a warm blanket, soft music, and someone who takes their time. Whether they’re living independently, in retirement homes, or simply need a little extra kindness, I look after them with patience, dignity and genuine care.

For over 12 years, I’ve volunteered in aged care, offering gentle beauty and wellbeing experiences to residents. That time has taught me so much about dementia, aging, and the importance of calm connection — understanding how to make every visit feel safe, respectful, and soothing.

Many families tell me how reassuring it is to know their loved one is being treated gently, spoken to kindly, and never rushed.

If you’d like to give your mum or grandmother a peaceful hour of comfort and pampering, I’d be honoured to look after her. 🌷

The Gentle Power of Supplements

I've been asked lately, "what vitamins etc do you I take" so, here they are:-

As we age, our body’s natural production of key nutrients slows — collagen levels drop, calcium absorption decreases, and magnesium stores can become depleted. Supplements help bridge those gaps, supporting vitality and graceful ageing from the inside out.

Collagen — supports skin elasticity and firmness. Studies show collagen peptides can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and improve hydration.

Hair Growth Support (Biotin & Silicon) — biotin contributes to keratin formation, while silicon strengthens hair shafts for improved thickness and resilience.

Magnesium Glycinate — a highly absorbable form that helps ease muscle tension, supports restful sleep, and steadies energy levels throughout the day.

Calcium + Vitamin D3 + Magnesium — essential for maintaining bone density and muscle function, especially important for women post‑60.

Supplements aren’t a shortcut — they’re a gentle partnership with your body’s natural rhythm.

When combined with balanced nutrition, hydration, and rest, they help you feel strong, calm, and beautifully supported.

These are all purchased on my absolute favourite site - Amazon.

Skin Fasting for Mature Skin — A Gentle 7‑Day Reset

Ever heard of Skin Fasting?

If your skin has been feeling irritated, red, or extra dry, it might be asking for a little rest. For mature skin, a total fast isn’t ideal — but a partial skin fast can work wonders for rebuilding the skin barrier.

Here’s a simple 7‑day skin reset that’s safe, soothing, and perfect for delicate, mature skin.

1. Pause the Actives

Pop your retinoids, acids, and strong serums away for one week.
Let your skin breathe, settle, and repair.

2. Keep It Simple

AM:
• Rinse with water
• Apply a basic, comforting moisturiser
• Finish with SPF

PM:
• Use a gentle, hydrating cleanser
• Apply your basic moisturiser
That’s it — no extras, no stimulation, just calm.

3. Reset

After 7 days, slowly reintroduce your favourite products one at a time.
This helps you see what truly supports your skin… and what may be causing irritation.

My own experience:

Yes, I’ve tried skin fasting — sometimes I even go completely without any products for a day or so, especially if I’m home and not venturing out.

However, if you’re in the mature age group, please follow the instructions above to keep your skin comfortable and protected.

A short break can bring back softness, comfort, and a healthy glow — especially for mature skin that loves a gentle approach.

Menopause and the loss of hair around the hairline

One of the quieter changes many women notice during menopause is a soft thinning of the hairline — especially around the temples and sides of the face. It can feel unsettling at first, but it’s incredibly common. Our hormones shift, circulation slows a little, and those fine baby hairs we once had can become sparse.

Recently, I started noticing this myself. Instead of panicking, I took a gentle, curious approach and did some research into ways women support circulation in this area. I decided to try a simple routine — nothing harsh, nothing invasive — just patience, consistency and kindness to my skin.

What I’ve been doing:

After dermarolling my face (always with clean tools and light pressure), I apply a small amount of argan oil along my hairline. Then I use the dermaroller over that area — back and forth, side to side — for about 5–10 minutes. The idea behind this is to encourage blood flow to the area and give those tiny follicles a little nudge.

Why dermarolling can help:

Dermarolling creates micro‑channels in the skin that can help stimulate collagen and improve absorption of nourishing oils. It also boosts circulation, which may help awaken sluggish follicles and support the growth of fine, new hairs. When done gently and hygienically, it’s a lovely way to care for both skin and scalp.

What I’ve noticed:

Over the past few weeks, I’ve started to see fine new hairs appearing. They’re soft, light and early — but they’re there. It’s been a lovely reminder that our bodies are still responsive, still capable of change, and still deserving of gentle care.

A few important notes:

• Always keep your dermaroller scrupulously clean to avoid infection.

• Use light pressure — never force the skin.

• This is simply what has helped me feel more proactive and supported.

• If you’re experiencing significant hair loss, it’s always wise to chat with a healthcare professional to rule out other causes.

Menopause asks us to slow down, listen, and nurture ourselves in new ways. If you’re noticing changes around your hairline, you’re not alone — and there are gentle, comforting rituals that can help you feel more in control and more connected to your body.

Gentle Care for Mature Skin

Ladies, as our skin becomes more delicate with age, it needs a softer, more thoughtful kind of care. There are so many gentle ways to support mature skin — ways that feel comforting, calming, and respectful of the changes that come with time.

At Sharyn’s Beauty & Wellbeing, that’s exactly what I offer you.
I specialise in caring for mature skin with patience, kindness, and a truly gentle touch. No invasive machinery, no harsh treatments — just soothing, nurturing pampering that helps your skin look and feel its best.

Gentle exfoliation tools help lift away dry, dull skin without scratching or irritating. They brighten the complexion, soften texture, and allow your moisturisers to absorb beautifully — all without any discomfort.

Ice rolling is another favourite. The coolness calms redness, reduces puffiness, boosts circulation, and leaves the skin feeling refreshed and alive. It’s a simple, soothing step that mature skin absolutely loves.

Warm towels… soft massage… calming tools… unhurried attention…
It’s a space created especially for senior women who want to feel relaxed, supported, and beautifully cared for.

Your skin deserves gentleness.
And so do you.
