Hi, I'm Zahra, an ICF-Certified Life & Health Coach, a Nationally Recognised Nutritionist and an NLP Practitioner. For years, I felt trapped in cycles I didn’t know how to escape—toxic relationships, self-doubt, and a lingering sense of never feeling “enough.” My first breakup in my early 20s shattered me. I was drowning in depression and isolation, convinced that if I just tried harder, loved deeper, and ignored the red flags, things would work out. That relationship was codependent, draining, and laced with unhealed trauma—and walking away was just the beginning. I thought escaping meant healing, but I quickly realised that freedom without clarity only leads to more confusion. I built new friendships, forced myself into hobbies, and tried to rebuild from scratch—but I kept falling back into the same destructive patterns. My health suffered. Burnout and stress manifested in gut issues, exhaustion, and anxiety. I was running on empty, chasing external fixes while avoiding the real work within. The turning point came when I finally stopped being at the effect of life and decided to reclaim control. I started setting boundaries, even when they meant facing solitude. I spent time strengthening my self-worth, learning how to break free from limiting beliefs and emotional triggers. For the first time, I opened myself up to love again, but this time, on my terms. With the confidence and clarity I had cultivated, I stepped into a relationship rooted in respect, emotional security, and genuine connection—one that has now flourished for nearly a decade and remains the most fulfilling partnership of my life! I became a student of transformation, investing in nutrition, mindset coaching, and personal development. I deepened my knowledge through life coaching certification, NLP training, and holistic health studies—because healing isn’t just about fixing symptoms. It’s about rebuilding from the inside out. Now, I coach ambitious women through their own transformations—helping them rewrite the beliefs that have kept them stuck, reclaim their full potential, and design a life rooted in self-worth, fulfillment, and wellness. Because I’ve lived through these struggles myself, I know firsthand what it takes to break free and rise stronger. If you struggle with anxiety, or other intrusive emotions that make life difficult, then you will benefit from this post.
I share my real experience with anxiety, and how I finally figured out the solution in my mid 30s.
It sounds counterintuitive but it works for me. Do you suffer from anxiety? What has helped you?

For the longest time, I dealt with anxious thoughts by disconnecting.
Unfortunately this left me isolated, and disconnected from myself.
The solution? I found out that I didn't have to run away from difficult emotions, and I found connection within the discomfort.

How do you deal with anxiety? do you find it hard to not disconnect?
Your thoughts can spiral when going through anxiety. The temptation is to disconnected and distract yourself.
That is NOT a sustainable solution. Trust me, I've tried. It left me feeling disconnected with myself and utterly isolated.
The solution? Disengage without disconnecting. This is a novel trick I've found that works for me, and it might work for you too.

🌸 Once a year, this flower blooms for a day.
I remember when I first rescued this plant, it was blooming. I took it home, looked after it, gave it water, fresh soil, and it wasn't blooming any more.
💦 I waited for months, changed its location, gave it fertiliser, and still no flowers.
🙌 I even doubted myself, and thought that maybe i didn't see it bloom for that first time, that maybe I was mistaken. Still, I kept nourishing it.
😳 And then one day, on my birthday, after propagating the plant, they all bloomed at the same time on the same day.
😢 It was bittersweet as it only lasted for 24 hours but it taught me an important lesson:
👉 If you've been working hard at something, and not seeing the fruits of your labour, don't lose hope. It is in the plants nature to bloom once a year. No amount of forcing is going to change that.
💞 Find out what your nature is. Listen closely. Observe. And pour your energy into your passion, regardless! Be open to surprises.
What's something you've been working hard at? And still waiting for the results? Let's share and support each other!

I've blocked myself from receiving emails for the last 3 months.
🤔You might wonder why I would do such a thing if I've been sending emails to potential prospects, arranging meetings and important conversations.
🥲I've been sitting here wondering the same, as I didn't receive a single reply from anyone for months.
😥The initial temptation was to take it as a rejection. "Maybe they aren't interested". Or perhaps "Maybe it isn't the right time". Possibly even "Maybe I'm not ready"
🥀But these were all just coping mechanisms. I didn't have any feedback to improve my approach, or any encouragement to keep going.
🙏Now I understand what it is:
Self Sabotage.
🤯An unworthy part, that in unconsciously operating in my life, showing me reasons to continue to not believe in myself.
😶🌫️So how do we get out of this funk? Start believing in ourselves again?
👉It starts with Self forgiveness...and then integration. Speak to that part, tell it: I hear you, I see you, I love you.
It's not about trying to convince this part that you ARE worthy. This is what most people get wrong about self improvement. It's about understanding that it exists, it has reasons to exist and you love it anyway, because IT MAKES YOU WHOLE 🫶
Stop Judging Yourself. Start Loving Yourself. Yes, even the part of you that Self Sabotages.😻
