Fleur and Fiore Photography

Apparently there are quite a few versions of me happening at once.

I’m Daisy the woman behind Fleur & Fiore.

I photograph women building something meaningful, and the more I’ve thought about that sentence, the more I’ve realised “building” doesn’t only mean a business.

Sometimes it absolutely does.

It’s the business you started with whatever time you had available, that now has clients, systems, bigger ideas and an old headshot that belongs to a version of you from three years ago.

But sometimes you’re building a family.

Starting again.

Making it through something difficult.

Celebrating something that might seem relatively insignificant to everyone else, but feels enormous to you.

I think that’s the thread running through everything I photograph.

Women, and the things that matter to them.

As for me? I’m a wife, mama to 3 boys - one looking down on us, studio owner and student midwife.

I love concerts, a cheeky holiday, projects I can completely lose myself in, renovating things that were arguably fine before I got involved, and collecting hobbies as though somebody has given me an extra 2 days in the week.

And I’m a big dreamer.

There is almost always another idea on the horizon.

So around here you’ll find brand photography, moments worth celebrating, behind the scenes, motherhood, business, creativity and probably the occasional thing that has occupied far too much space in my brain that week.

And if you've been here for ages, you probably already knew there'd be a tangent eventually.

Not everything worth celebrating comes with a ceremony.

Some things do.

The ring.
The two lines.
The birthday.
The new business.

And some things are quieter.

Finishing treatment.
One year sober.
Signing the divorce papers.
Getting the qualification you nearly gave up on.
Making it through a year that took more from you than most people knew.

Or maybe something happened that wouldn’t look particularly significant to anybody else.

But it was to you.

And I think we spend a lot of time waiting for the officially approved reasons to make a fuss.

Weddings. Babies. Big birthdays.

When sometimes you’re allowed to buy the cake, open the ch*****ne, put on the outfit and say:

F**k it. This mattered to me.

That’s what Worth Celebrating Petite Sessions are for.

Not because every moment needs to be documented.

But because some deserve somewhere to live beyond your camera roll.

Different people. Different reasons for being there. Different parts of my life as a photographer

You won't know the stories behind most of these.

Maybe you don't need to.

There's something in each of them that makes me feel something.

A little beauty in the imperfect, the fleeting, the very human.

I think those will always be the photographs I love most 🤍

Ellie and Isaac didn’t need a folder full of nice images and no idea where to put them.

They needed range.

Images of them together.

Images that introduced the people behind Casa Design Co | Newcastle & Hunter Residential Building Design

Images that could work across their website, socials and ongoing content without every post feeling like a variation of the same headshot.

So that changed the way I photographed the session.

I wasn’t only thinking about whether an image looked good.

I was thinking about where it could live.

What it could communicate.

Whether there was enough variety in the gallery to keep being useful long after the shoot itself was over.

Because a pretty gallery isn’t necessarily a useful gallery.

And if I’ve done my job properly, you shouldn’t open your gallery and think:

- Lovely. Now what? -

You should already know where half of it is going.

That’s the point of the planning.

Not more images for the sake of more images.

Images with a job to do.

If you know you need new images but you’re not quite sure where they should live or what you actually need, reach out. We’ll work that part out together.

Empty space is not wasted space.

When I step back, place you to one side of the frame or leave a clean section of wall beside you, I’m usually thinking several steps ahead.

Could a website headline sit there without covering your face? Could this become the first slide of a carousel? Would it work as an email banner? Is there enough room for a button, an offer or a few lines of copy?

The photograph still needs to feel considered on its own. But branding photography has another job: it needs to fit into the actual places your business shows up.

That is why I don’t spend an entire session making beautifully centred portraits in the same crop.

Some images are there to introduce you.

Some explain what you do.

Some hold text.

Some create breathing room between the busier pieces of your content.

I’m not only photographing what is in front of me. I’m thinking about what you will need from the image when the shoot is over.

Pretty matters. Useful matters too.

Save this for the next time you’re planning brand photos, or send it to the person who always asks why you’re standing off-centre 🫣

Some investments feel expensive when you make them.

The course. The software. The equipment. The support. The appointment you’ve been putting off. The thing that will save you time, improve your work or help you feel more like yourself again.

But the payoff isn’t always an immediate dollar amount.

Sometimes it’s the knowledge that changes your next decision.
The system that gives you an hour back each week.
The confidence to charge properly.
The tool that lets you create better work.
Or the support that gives you the capacity to keep building.

It all accumulates.

I’ll always believe that investing in yourself and your business comes back tenfold - even when the return takes a little longer to reveal itself.

Fleur & Fiore is a Newcastle brand photographer helping female founders and women in business create strategic, memorable imagery.

I used to hold her when she was a baby.

Now, she holds her own.

Time has such a bittersweet way of moving. It can feel impossibly slow when you’re living in the trenches, the broken sleep, the endless feeds, the days when everybody needs something from you.

Then one day, you look back and realise how quickly it all passed.

How much they’ve grown.

How much you’ve grown.

And how much you’d give to step back into one of those ordinary days, just once more- with the wisdom to know it wouldn’t last forever.
