AI
I’m as guilty as many to partake in some of the AI fads going around. To have a laugh and really see how much AI has learned about me.
However I am swiftly reminded by my anti AI teen about the effect on the environment every time I pop a command into an AI. Is anyone else really thinking about this?
My staunch teen is refreshingly against AI entirely, which adds for interesting conversations around home. Love her stance and commitment.
The deeper you dive into it, the more scary it becomes. I am certainly more mindful and tend to steer away from using AI when I can. Each command can cost 2-10 tsp water.
When AI first came to us, I made a vow to myself to keep my written content as personal and real as I can instead. So far this is working for me. I try to lead life authentically from my heart, and I feel my professional and personal life are better for it. I don’t believe AI can do this for me.
I have spent time trying to get AI to create something, then getting caught up in the web of trying to get it right. Then looking back and thinking I could have done it myself in half the time, and it would be more authentic. Sound familiar?
You can certainly tell the posts on different platforms that are AI and those that are from the heart and meaningful. Don’t get me started on AI auto generated emails that I get. Delete. I’m a person and I require personal connection. No input equals no output. Is that too harsh?
However one of my business mentors has developed programmes through AI that save time and money. One of these is outrageously helpful in the financial realm of business.
AI has also been great for spreadsheets and factual docs like a Resume and invoicing docs.
I guess what I have come to the conclusion about is:
* AI is here to stay but as yet I am not ‘fully in”.
* I don’t think personal and professional content for posts needs it.
* AI has its place for some things.
* I am always consciously thinking about the impact on the environment.
But as you can see I have also indulged a bit with the fun stuff..... but need to look around before I do.
What are you using it for and what do you refuse to use it for?

On World Su***de Prevention day we need start conversations to change the narrative around su***de.
This has been the theme of the World Health Organisation for a few years.
It’s all about conversations and being connected to others.
Sometimes those conversations need to be direct and confrontational. Sometimes people just need to be seen, heard and held with others.
Today is a day to really think about holding space for yourself and others, and we need to do this more often than today.
Maybe think about popping reminders in your diary to reach out to someone each week. Life is busy and this can be a tool to ensure we connect and have conversations in general. That may or may not lead to a conversation about su***de. It could make someone’s day as well as your own.
Just an idea.
I’ll be with clients today after some morning time out in my garden tending to my own soul, then attending a business club meeting in community tonight, then being with my two incredible teens. I feel so lucky.
I hope you spend today and beyond connecting with lots of people and having conversations of all kinds. Hold your loved ones tight too.
