Today’s appointment turned into a whole damn pamper day 😂🖤

We started off in my chair with her dread maintenance, then she decided it was finally time for the undercut… so off we went to see Ty, who absolutely smashed the fade and hair tattoo 🔥

Then it was back to my chair to finish her maintenance and add in her new hair wraps ✨

And apparently we STILL weren’t finished 😂 Once I was done, we walked down to Here for Hair where Erin gave her fringe a fresh cut too!

So yes, if you’re wondering why she’s sitting in different chairs and completely different places in these photos… we went on a whole bloody hair adventure today 😂

Second client of the day came in for her partial maintenance… and then discovered the new handmade hair wraps I’ve got in store 👀

She instantly grabbed TWO and has already jumped in to order more directly from the maker 😂🙌

We were apparently so bloody excited about getting these into her dreadies that I completely forgot to take a proper after photo of her maintenance 🤦‍♀️😂

So instead, please enjoy the extremely enthusiastic close-up I DID remember to take because LOOK AT THEM 😍

The colours. The textures. The little beads and details mixed through her dreadies. They suit her existing set ridiculously well.

I knew these wraps were going to be a vibe in the studio, but watching someone discover them and immediately go “YEP, I need those” on the very first day I had them in stock has absolutely made my day 😂🖤

Today’s client was in for a quick tidy on her 8 dreadies and can we PLEASE talk about this fu***ng mullet?! 😭🔥

Because why did I finish her hair and immediately start thinking …do I need a mullet?

The texture. The dreadies underneath. The whole messy alternative vibe. Holy s**t. I’m OBSESSED.

But ALSO… speaking of talented humans, LOOK WHAT SHE MAKES 👀

So basically she came in for a dread tidy, made me want a fu***ng mullet, stocked my studio with her creations AND somehow left with $85 of MY money.

Today’s client reached out about a week ago, booked herself in for extensions with absolutely no plan beyond wanting dreadies… and honestly, these are some of my favourite appointments 😂

Sometimes you don’t need to have the whole vision figured out before you book. Sometimes we figure it out together.

The second she saw the blonde set next to those greens and turquoises, we both just KNEW. Yep. That’s hers. 💚

And holy s**t did it come together.

It was a loooong day, with her hubby hanging out with us through the entire thing, plenty of chatting, laughing and watching this massive transformation slowly take shape.

She walked in with that beautiful head of loose hair and walked out with this absolute mane. 😍

One impulsive booking, one colour combination we stumbled onto at exactly the right moment, and two genuinely lovely humans I’m very glad I got to meet.

Days like this don’t feel much like work even if I didn’t get home till almost 9pm 🖤

Maintenance days are my fu***ng favourite 😍🖤

Nothing dramatic. Nothing needs to be.

Just taking already beautiful, well-loved dreadies and giving them the attention they need. Regrowth pulled back in, loose hair where it belongs, sections cleaned up and everything sitting pretty again ✨

And honestly, THIS is what I love about mature dreadies. They’re not supposed to look freshly created forever. They develop texture, personality, little imperfections and a whole bloody life of their own.

My job isn’t to erase that.

It’s to look after them, keep them strong and healthy, and send you back out the door feeling fresh as f**k again 😂🖤

She’s been a regular of mine for a while now, and tomorrow is her birthday, so OBVIOUSLY we had to make sure the dreadies were looking their absolute best before birthday celebrations 🖤✨

Fresh maintenance, everything pulled back into shape and those ridiculously long blonde ends looking beautiful again 😍

But genuinely, one of my favourite things about this job is the people it brings into my chair.

I LOVE my sessions with this absolute gem of a human. It never really feels like work. It feels like catching up with a good friend, talking absolute s**t for a few hours, having a laugh and somehow getting a whole head of dreadies maintained in the process 😂

Happy birthday for tomorrow, beautiful! 🖤 I hope you have the best bloody day.

And thank you for continuing to trust me with your hair. It means more than you probably realise. 🥹

Today’s client travelled over an hour for her appointment and left absolutely BOUNCING 🥹🖤

But there’s a little more to this one.

She had actually booked a partial dreadlock creation elsewhere locally. She hadn’t been sent an address, couldn’t get in touch with them to pay the deposit, and when she tried to get in contact about the appointment, she couldn’t get an answer.

And THAT is the s**t that gets to me.

Not because she originally booked somewhere else. I genuinely do not care where people choose to have their hair done. There is room for all of us.

What I care about is people being looked after.

If someone is trusting you with their hair, their money, their time AND travelling to get to you, basic communication and reliability shouldn’t be too much to ask.

I hear plenty about myself from other people in this industry. Apparently I’m the problem. I’m the bad guy. I work too much. I’m too loud. I’m whatever else is being said this week 😂

Meanwhile, I’m just here… doing the fu***ng work.

I show up. I answer my clients. I make sure they know where they’re going. I have systems in place. I make sure the people who trust me with their hair are actually cared for. I take less than a week off over Christmas because I know how important that time of year is for my clients, and I work bloody hard to make sure everyone is sorted.

I’m not perfect. I’ll never pretend to be.

But I give a s**t.

And today, someone who could have walked away from the whole experience disappointed instead travelled over an hour, sat in my chair, trusted me to create these beauties, and walked out absolutely fu***ng THRILLED with them.

THAT is why I do the work.

You can dislike me. You can talk about me. But you cannot convince me that showing up, communicating, caring about my clients and actually doing the work somehow makes me the problem.
