Why do you need to double cleanse?
Double cleansing is a skincare method that involves using two different types of cleansers in succession—typically an oil-based cleanser followed by a water-based one. The reason for double cleansing is to ensure that all impurities are thoroughly removed from the skin, promoting a cleaner, clearer complexion. Here’s why it’s beneficial:
Removes Oil-Based Impurities: The first step, an oil-based cleanser, helps to dissolve makeup, sunscreen, and excess oils that are resistant to water. Oil binds to oil, so it can break down these substances more effectively.
Cleanses Deeper into Pores: The second step, a water-based cleanser, helps remove any remaining debris, dirt, sweat, and the oil-based cleanser itself. This ensures a deeper clean and prevents clogged pores, which can lead to breakouts.
