Five years ago today, 25 people gathered in Kangaroo Valley to watch two hearts that had been colliding since primary school finally say “I do” 💜

What started with handball rivalry, mutual annoyance and “who does this floppy-haired dork boy think he is?” somehow turned into eighteen years of choosing each other again and again.

And honestly?
Their ceremony felt exactly like them.

Intimate.
Warm.
A little chaotic.
Deeply emotional.
Filled with stories, laughter, inside jokes and so much family love.

One of my favourite moments still lives rent free in my celebrant brain...

Instead of having a traditional reading, Tom and Amelia’s closest family stood one by one to deliver lines from Blessing of the Hands together...each voice adding another layer to the promises being made that day.

Not performance.
Participation.

The kind of ceremony moment where everyone in the space stops feeling like “guests” and becomes part of the story itself 💜

Five years later, I still think about the softness of that afternoon at and the beautiful little world these two had already begun building together before marriage even officially started.
