And that's a wrap!!! Hey Sugar, Tanunda has closed its doors for the last time today.
I'm full of so many different feelings that there's no way to put any of it into words. So for fear of spending the night crying into my wine glass, I will keep it as brief as I can 😅

Realising a dream is one thing, realising it with some of your favourite people is another. I truly believe that Maya and I built something incredible with Hey Sugar. Something we'll never be able to recreate anywhere else. We had a welcoming, positive and safe space. We created a space where people felt relaxed enough to doze off, to talk about the good and the bad, to bring their kids in for their first hair and beauty appointments, to get ready for their weddings, for their formals and everything else in between. We've seen so much good and had so many deep and meaningful moments. We had a wonderful team of 5 at one point. We saw Abby finish her apprenticeship and work her butt off to get qualified. We all grew exceptionally in our respective careers. I'm so incredibly proud of all of us and what we achieved over the years.

Its hard to believe we were only here for 3 years! How does it feel like so much more times passed here, but not nearly enough all at the same time. My heart is hurting because we couldn't be here longer. But the world moves in mysterious ways, and the timing just wasn't right anymore.

Maya, I will always be proud of what we did and what we built. I know this is not goodbye because you won't get rid of me that easily 🤣 but 6 years of working together, we've had some moments 🤣 and I will miss your daily stories, the laughs, the coffees, the bookchats, the energy drinks, the snack table, the rants. I'll miss it all. Especially the unwavering support. I couldn't have done any of this without you, nor would I have wanted to. Love you endlessly.

Abby thank you for being our little salon fairy! Not a single soul walked through those doors that didn't comment about how lovely, positive and uplifting you are. You are without a doubt, one of the most cheerful people I have ever met. I'll forever be so proud of what you achieved. Watching you grow from apprentice to senior stylist has been an absolute honour. Never change my girl!

A lastly, but certainly not least. Thank you to all the incredible clients that came to our little corner of Tanunda! I know for most of you we will still see you, especially Maya in her new place. But I wanted to personally thank you. Whether it was one time, or 100 times you came to visit, you'll never know how grateful we are. We loved having every single one of you come in. Without you, Hey Sugar wouldn't be what it was and certainly wouldn't have grown the way it did.

Thank you to everyone for making this the best adventure yet. It has not been an easy goodbye, but I'm so excited to see where the next ones takes us 🩷
