Upper back feeling stiff and shoulders rounding forward? Try this!
Postural tightness often comes from a locked mid‑back, not “bad posture.” When your thoracic spine can’t move, your shoulders and neck take the hit.
This simple ball drill restores glide between your ribs and shoulder blade so your upper body can actually move the way it should.
How to do it:
1. Place the ball between your shoulder blade and spine — not on the bone.
2. Lean into the wall.
3. Slowly raise your arm overhead, then lower it back down.
Result:
Better posture, smoother overhead mobility, less neck/shoulder strain.

Ever wonder why your knee shifts inward when you squat or lunge, causing that deep kneecap pinch? 🦵💥
It’s highly likely a timing error starting at the floor. If your foot arches collapse (over-pronation), your shin bone is forced to twist inward. This derails your kneecap tracking and—more importantly—it completely compromises your glutes.
To activate your glute max and medius effectively, your nervous system needs to sense a stable arch. If your foundation is collapsing, the neurological loop to your hip is inhibited to protect the joint. You aren't "weak", you're mechanically disadvantaged.
At Momentum Health, we look at the whole picture!
We evaluate your foot and ankle tracking before we even touch your hip.
Let’s unlock your actual movement capacity.

The Lateral-Resisted Step-Up
If your knee caves inward when you walk up stairs, your glutes aren't lazy...
They just need to be trained to fight sideways pressure!
Standard step-ups are great for building thigh strength, but they only work you in a straight line. In the real world—like when you're running, changing direction, or stepping off a curb in Pakenham—your hip has to stabilize against side-to-side forces.
By adding a lateral long band to your step-up, we force the Gluteus Medius (your hip stabilizer) to fire aggressively to keep your knee from collapsing inward.
How to do it:
1. Anchor a long band low to your side and loop the other end around the outside of your working knee.
2. Stand next to a low step or weight plate.
3. Step up slowly, actively pushing your knee outward against the band's pull so it tracks perfectly over your middle toes.
4. Control the way down.
5. Try 3 sets of 12 controlled reps.
The Result: Better knee tracking, stronger glutes, and less joint wear-and-tear.
👉 Fix your tracking before it turns into an injury!

Let’s be honest: just because leaking after having kids is common doesn’t mean it’s something you have to live with forever. 👎
Too many women are told that after pregnancy, their body just “isn’t the same” and that bladder control issues are simply part of motherhood. It’s a frustrating narrative that leaves so many people feeling stuck and self‑conscious.
Here’s the truth: your pelvic floor is a dynamic, capable muscle group. If it was strained during pregnancy or birth, it can be rehabilitated, strengthened, and re‑coordinated — just like any other muscle in your body. 💪
You don’t have to “just deal with it.” Let’s get you back to moving with confidence.

Finding relief for deep hip tension starts here 👍
The Glute/Piriformis Release is one of the simplest ways to unlock those tight lateral rotators that get “sticky” from long days of sitting.
Using the massage ball:
Place it in the meaty part of the glute, find a tender spot, hold steady pressure, and gently let your knee fall out to the side — that butterfly motion helps glide the muscle under the ball for a deeper release.
Save this for your next mobility session and give your hips the reset they’ve been asking for!
