Facial rejuvenation treatments to help you look and feel your best at any age!

28/08/2026

I had laser today… so my skincare routine is officially in recovery mode.

For the next week, I’m not trying to optimise, exfoliate or stimulate my skin. I’m trying to support it while it repairs.

That means the actives I normally love: vitamin A, vitamin C and my AHA cleanser are temporarily taking a seat.

Instead, I’m focusing on barrier support, hydration, replenishing lipids and protection.

Tonight that looks like Aspect Dr Ceramide Serum followed by Hydra Shield - simple, nourishing and exactly what my skin needs right now.

Because sometimes good skincare isn’t about doing more.

It’s knowing when your skin needs you to do less.

Save this one for your next laser, microneedling or professional skin treatment!

Why does vitamin C matter?

Because skincare isn’t just about correcting what we can already see - a REALLY good routine should also be supporting and protecting your skin every day.

Enter Vitamin C.

As an antioxidant, Vitamin C helps defend the skin against oxidative stress caused by things like UV exposure and environmental factors. It also plays an i@portent role in collagen synthesis and can help with improving brightness and uneven skin tone.

For me - it’s one of those ingredients that can do a lot of heavy lifting in a morning routine… but there’s a catch!

The quality and formulation of your vitamin C matters.
The form of Vitamin C matters

And the strongest product? Not necessarily the best product for YOUR skin.

2 of my favourites in clinic:

Aspect Dr Intensive C - a beautiful antioxidant with L-ascorbic acid, Rosmarinic acid and Vitamin E

And

Skinceuticals CE Ferulic - L-ascorbic acid combined with vitamin E and ferulic acid and one of my favs for the right skin!

Both are stocked in clinic but which one I recommend totally depends on the skin sitting in front of me.

Because the goal isn’t to use every great ingredient, it’s to use the RIGHT ONES for YOUR skin.

REJURAN! Honestly, it’s such a great all round skin rejuvenation treatment.

This particular patient was focused on improving the general appearance of her skin, with a focus on texture.

We opted to use Rejuran which consists of polynucleotides (little DNA fragments) used to promote tissue restoration and reconstruction.

It’s commonly used for general skin improvement, including texture and pigment and is great for improving skin elasticity and hydration.

Any injectable treatment carries potential for risks, side effects and downtime.

A full consultation with a healthcare professional is necessary to assess you suitability for treatment.

Results are ALWAYS patient specific and can differ - treatment above was undertaken by RN Lizzie Barrett.

Heeeeyyyyy!

If you are new here (or you’ve been quietly lurking for awhile) - I’m Lizzie, the owner and principle clinician at Ziel Cosmetic Studio.

I know booking your first appointment can feel a little intimidating. So before we talk skin, consultations or treatment plans, I thought I’d do some sharing!

I’m a nurse, a mum, a budding netballer, a coffee and book enthusiast and someone who genuinely believes looking after yourself doesn’t have to mean looking like someone else.

If you’ve been watching from the sidelines wondering whether to book… this is your sign to say hello 👋- even if it’s just to ask a question.

I’m really glad you’re here.

We spend so much of our lives chasing the next thing. The next milestone. The next goal. The next weekend.

This holiday reminded me that beauty isn’t something we have to create, it’s already all around us.

In rainbows after the rain. Ancient rock formations. Salty ocean air. Tiny footprints. Incredible food shared with people we love. Sunsets that ask nothing of us except to stop and look.

Maybe that’s why slowing down feels so good. It gives us the chance to notice.

As I head back into clinic this week, I’m bringing that reminder with me… to appreciate the little things, to celebrate progress over perfection, and to find beauty in the everyday.

Because sometimes the most beautiful moments are the ones we almost miss.

Can’t wait to see you all 🫶

I did it. ❤️

On Thursday, Brett and I crossed the finish line at HYROX.

And at the risk of oversharing… this one wasn’t exactly set up for success.

I had my period.
We both had head colds.
Brett tore his calf muscle the week before.

There were plenty of reasons to say, “Not today.”

But we showed up.

Not because we felt amazing, but because we’d committed to ourselves and to each other.

I’m honestly so proud of us.

This experience reminded me that big goals are almost never achieved through one big effort. They’re built through hundreds of small decisions that no one else really sees.

Six months ago I started training. Not with marathon sessions or an elite program, because that’s just not realistic for me. I squeezed in runs and 20 minute strength sessions whenever possible, and did what I could with the time I had.

Those small, imperfect, consistent actions eventually added up to crossing a finish line I once thought was completely out of reach.

It’s funny because it’s exactly what I talk about every day in clinic.

Whether it’s your fitness, your skin, your health or almost anything worth working towards, lasting results rarely come from doing something extreme once. They come from showing up consistently, even when life gets busy, even when motivation disappears, and even when the conditions aren’t perfect.

You don’t have to be perfect.
You just have to keep showing up and taking those small steps.

Today, that got me across a HYROX finish line. And I think that’s a pretty good reminder that consistency will almost always take you further than perfection ever will.

It’s hard to put into words just how impactful Monday was.

I had the privilege of spending the day in a cadaver anatomy lab with the incredible team at .au learning from David Eccleston , and from the Evolus Medical Affairs team.

It was one of those experiences that reminds you just how extraordinary the human body really is.

People often ask why I spend so much time travelling for education, attending conferences and investing in advanced training. The answer is simple: because every single person who walks through my door deserves the very best of me.

Anatomy isn’t static. Every face is beautifully different, and no textbook or online lecture can replicate the depth of understanding that comes from learning in an environment like this. Seeing anatomy layer by layer changes the way you think. It sharpens your assessment, deepens your respect for anatomical variation, and ultimately helps you make better clinical decisions.

For me, education has never been about collecting certificates or ticking boxes. It’s about continually asking, “How can I do this better? How can I make this safer? How can I provide the highest standard of care possible?”

I’m incredibly grateful to the Evolus team and to the faculty for sharing their knowledge so generously. Opportunities like this don’t just make us better practitioners, they make us safer, more thoughtful clinicians.

Every course, every conference and every anatomy lab is an investment back into the care I provide for you.

And that investment is one I’ll never stop making. 🤍

One thing I never want to lose is curiosity.

Whether I’m in clinic, training other nurses or sitting in a conference room full of industry leaders, I’m always looking for opportunities to learn, ask questions, and challenge my own thinking.

The best outcomes don’t come from knowing everything. They come from staying engaged, staying teachable, and being willing to ask the questions that deepen your understanding.

Every conference, every conversation, and every expert perspective adds another layer to the care I provide my patients.

Because when you choose to never stop learning, your patients benefit too. ✨

Juv’ae | Cosmetic Collective Conference and Awards

Today, I was privileged enough to spend the day learning and networking at the 2026 Cosmetic Collective conference Juv’ae | Cosmetic Collective Conference and Awards by Juv'ae | Advancing Cosmetic Nurses, Together

I’m so grateful that I got to listen to insights and opinions from such a wide variety of speakers and thought leaders.

Some of the key takeaways from today’s sessions were:

- How to approach facial volume restoration after rapid weight loss.
- The importance of the consultation, treatment planning and skincare.
- The energy I bring into clinic and the treatment room 🫶

There were so many small and big moments of learning today and I’m excited to see what amazing insights tomorrow will bring!
