🐄🎶 Old MacDonald had a farm… E-I-E-I-O! 🐷🐔🐑
Today we brought the farm to kids yoga! 🌾✨
We started with a fun reading of Old MacDonald Had a Farm, then brought the story to life with our bodies — mooing like cows, waddling like ducks, stretching like cats and moving like all our favourite farm animals! 🐄🦆🐈🐎
The fun continued with a farm-themed Yoga Freeze Game, where the kids had to freeze in their favourite animal yoga pose when the music stopped! 🧘♀️🎵
Lots of movement, imagination, laughter and learning — because kids yoga is always more fun when we can read, move, play and explore together!💚
Breathe • Move • Relax
What a beautiful way to finish the term!
Today was my last Seniors Chair Yoga session at Liverpool Library for the year, and I feel incredibly grateful to have had the pleasure of being their facilitator.
Over the past term, we’ve done so much more than gentle movement. We’ve taken time to breathe, stretch, move, relax and reconnect — supporting mobility, balance, flexibility and overall wellbeing, while also enjoying the wonderful social connection that comes from coming together each week.
And today we finished with something just as important… morning tea and a good chat!
For me, one of the most rewarding parts of these sessions has been seeing the friendships, laughter and connections grow. Sometimes simply having a reason to get out, move your body and spend time with others can make such a difference.
Thank you to everyone who showed up each week, participated, laughed with me and made the sessions so enjoyable. It has genuinely been a pleasure.
This isn't goodbye though… I'll be back next year!
Until then, keep breathing, keep moving, keep connecting and keep making time for yourselves.
With gratitude,
Vera x

💛 R U OK? Day at Opal HealthCare Bossley Parkside 💛
What a wonderful day of mindfulness, movement, relaxation and plenty of laughs!
Today was a chance for the amazing team at Bossley Parkside to pause and take a moment for themselves — something that can be so easily forgotten when your day is spent caring for others.
From nurses and carers to lifestyle teams, hospitality, administration, maintenance, cleaning and management, every person plays an important role in creating a safe, caring and supportive home for our vulnerable residents.
We stretched, breathed, relaxed, shared a few laughs and, most importantly, took a moment to connect and check in with one another.
Thank you to the incredible team for making me feel so welcome and for bringing such wonderful energy to the sessions.
Because sometimes the people who spend their days caring for everyone else need someone to remind them to pause, breathe and look after themselves too.
R U OK? — Ask. Listen. Connect.
R U OK?
Not just today. Not just when someone looks like they’re struggling.
A genuine check-in can be the moment someone feels noticed, heard and reminded that they don’t have to carry everything alone.
Through my sessions, I see how important connection, movement, breathing, mindfulness and creating a safe space can be — for children, educators, families and adults of all ages.
Sometimes wellbeing looks like taking a few deep breaths.
Sometimes it’s having a laugh.
Sometimes it’s sitting quietly.
And sometimes it’s simply asking someone:
“How are you really going?”
Ask. Listen. Check in. Stay connected.
And if today’s the day you’re thinking about someone… send the message. Make the call. Ask the question.
You never know how much it might mean.
R U OK?
Sometimes mindfulness for kids looks a little different… and a lot more fun! 😄
Our little breathing ducks become a gentle visual cue as children lie back, place a duck on their belly and notice it rise and fall with each breath.
Add an eye mask, some calming sounds and a little imagination… and suddenly relaxation becomes something children want to practise.
It’s playful, simple and helps children slow down, tune into their breathing and finish a session feeling calm and settled.
Because mindfulness doesn’t have to be serious to be meaningful.

It’s the little things that can transform a session.
At Vera’s Gentle Journey, I love bringing more than just movement into my sessions.
I use simple props and sensory experiences to help people connect, breathe, focus, relax and have fun— depending on the session and the people in front of me.
🫧 A breathing ball to make breathwork visual and engaging.
💭 Mindfulness cards to encourage a moment of reflection.
✨ Little affirmation stickers to take away as a positive reminder.
🌧️ A rainmaker to create a soothing sensory experience.
🔔 A Tibetan singing bowl to bring beautiful sounds into relaxation.
These are just some of the little touches I use to make sessions interactive, meaningful and memorable.
Whether I'm working with children, older adults, carers, workplaces or community groups, I believe wellbeing doesn't have to be complicated.
Sometimes it's simply about creating a moment to Breathe • Move • Relax.

R U OK?
A simple question can open the door to a meaningful conversation.
This R U OK? Day, Vera’s Gentle Journey is proud to support workplaces and care teams in creating space to pause, breathe, connect and check in with one another.
Our International Nurses Day session with the wonderful team at Opal HealthCare was a beautiful reminder that wellbeing doesn’t have to be complicated.
Sometimes it starts with movement, a breath, a moment of laughter — and simply asking, Are you OK?
