At Poppy Patch, the safety and wellbeing of every child in our care is always our highest priority.

Our team recently welcomed ZaZa’s Legacy Choking Prevention Australia for important education and practical training in choking prevention and emergency response. We also received LifeVac airway-clearance devices for our centre and had the opportunity to practise their correct use.

ZaZa’s Legacy is an Australian registered charity dedicated to preventing choking related tragedies through education, awareness, advocacy and action. We are incredibly grateful for the important work they do to help protect children and support families and educators across Australia.

While we hope these devices are never needed, we believe in being prepared, confident and equipped to respond in an emergency. They complement not replace first aid procedures and calling Triple Zero (000).

Meet Debra, Co-Founder of Poppy Patch Early Learning. 👋

A Paediatric Registered Nurse and Clinical Nurse Specialist with 20+ years' experience, Debra founded Little Wanderers Wanneroo in 2011 and has spent her career championing inclusive, high-quality early education for every child — including those with additional needs.

As a mum of four herself, she knows exactly what families are looking for.
