Vitamin A (retinoids) are one of the most researched ingredients in skincare and play a key role in achieving real skin results.

This client works FIFO outdoors, so her skin is constantly exposed to dust, dirt and layers of sunscreen, which can easily lead to congestion.

When she first came in, her skin barrier was quite stripped and she was also deficient in essential fatty acids. This combination can disrupt normal cell turnover and change the consistency of the skin’s oil, making it thicker and more likely to block pores.

The result was maturation arrest acne, where skin cells don’t shed properly and instead build up in the follicle, causing congestion and breakouts.

Treatment focused on restoring skin function rather than stripping it further. We used biomimetic peels, LED light therapy and barrier-supportive skincare to normalise cell turnover, support the lipid barrier and clear the congestion! 👌
