Fascia doesn’t “build up,” but it can become tight and sticky. Around the shoulder blade, this can irritate nearby nerves and cause a burning sensation.
Tightness in the neck (like the SCM) doesn’t directly compress arm nerves, but it can affect surrounding muscles and posture, which may contribute to nerve irritation and lead to arm numbness.
