Research evolves, our understanding deepens, and best practice changes. What we believed to be the gold standard 10 or 20 years ago isn't always what we know to be best today.

If I were still practising exactly as I was taught in beauty school, A'Veen would be a very different clinic. We would likely be over exfoliating, impairing skin barriers and chasing quick fixes rather than supporting long term skin health. Contrary to what we were taught and what sadly still gets taught.. THE TOP LAYER OF SKIN IS NOT DEAD!!

Education isn't something we do once and tick off a list. It's an ongoing commitment to our clients, our profession and ourselves.

Every conference attended, every course completed and every educator learned from helps ensure that the care we provide today reflects the best of what we currently know.

Because our beautiful A'Veen community deserve nothing less.

It is always so inspiring to listen to the amazing Rachel, the woman behind Prologic✨️

Well, I certainly didn't expect this.

Tonight I was honoured to receive Prologic's Therapist of the Year award, and I'm still a little lost for words... I say as I am just about to write a novel😆

To be recognised for something that I pour my heart, soul, energy, time and probably every spare thought into means more than I can explain. A'Veen is my baby. It influences every decision I make, every course I do, every late-night idea, every challenge I take on, and every goal I set. It's what often keeps me awake at night (🫣) but equally the reason I get up in the morning (amoungst other beautiful things in life of course)

I'd pretty much ruled myself out before the awards even started. Lily had already told me off earlier and asked, "What's wrong with you? Why are you being so negative?" 🤣

To be standing amongst so many talented, passionate and deserving therapists tonight was very special. This industry can sometimes make me feel like I don't quite belong in the room, but from the very beginning Prologic has made me feel welcome, valued and part of something bigger.

Thank you to Lia, Rachel, Brooke, Karla Felipe, and Sunny for creating such an incredible family to be part of. Your support, encouragement and belief in all of us doesn't go unnoticed. We are so grateful.

Thank you to Robert for always being there, from before I even trained as a beauty therapist, for living and breathing A'Veen cos you have no choice and for being my biggest cheerleader🥰

And finally, thank you to all our clients. Everything I do is for you. You are the reason I get to do what I love every day, and this award belongs to you just as much as it does to me. The messages I received today before any award was even won was just beautiful.

From the shy, quiet girl who barely spoke, to standing on a stage accepting an award... (even if my hands were shaking and my already fast heart was racing). Every year brings a little more growth and I am proud of me.

Travelling 'light' as per usual. We are Noosa bound for the upcoming conference days plus the Prologic Awards Night.
Our days will go a little like this;
Saturday: A little self care day and enjoy some Noosa coast time before a pyjama night with our skin sister

Sunday: Up bright and early for the Corneotherapy Conference for a day of learning and informative talks by .naturopath then it's dinner with some of our skin family and mentors.

Monday: Another early start for a day of all things with Lia Trebilcock and guest speakers and the amazing woman behind Rachel Robertson. That evening we will then attend the Prologic Awards Night, we are finalists in three categories which is exciting.

Tuesday: Another day with our Prologic family. Breakfast then goal setting with before Asha from .naturopath grounds us with some breathwork.
That evening we will enjoy some dinner and fun with some of our skin friends

Wednesday: We head for Brisbane, Lily will meet a friend and I will see my cousin for some family time 🥰

Thursday: Make my way back to Perth before it's back to hands on in the Aoibhe room for the rest of the week 💙

Eri will be holding down the fort while me and Lily are away at thr conferences. The salon will have some altered hours during this time:

Beautiful visitors from home ☘️

Recently, our beautiful neighbours from Ireland came to visit while they were here in Perth, and it was so special to spend some quality time together.

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon together which spilled into an evening filled with laughter, stories, memories, and perhaps a few more glasses of wine than originally planned.. and maybe an attempt to satisfy my karaoke urges in the taxi home🫣🤣

The next day, it was lovely to welcome them into my pride and joy, A'Veen, for a little pamper with Eri and me. Seeing them experience a little piece of my world here in Perth meant so much🥰

Marie and her family have been woven into the fabric of our lives for as long as I can remember. Growing up next door, Marie was always there for our family and still very much is. Marie would often look after us before Ben and Ruth came along. Then years later, as a teenager, I babysat Ben and Ruth💙

Marie, Ben and Ruth are truly salt of the earth, with the kindest hearts and the most beautiful souls and we are so lucky to have them in our lives.
