Ours is September. Two birthdays in one week at Eclectic Styles Hair Studio and we couldn't let it slide without a celebration.

Liz is up Tuesday, Taylah's is tomorrow, so the team got in early and celebrated both together. Taylah even baked this cake herself (talent doesn't stop at hair, clearly).

Lived in colour is one of those terms that gets thrown around a lot, so let's actually explain it.

It's not a formula, it's a placement strategy. Every foil, every low light, every fine piece of dimension is placed with a purpose, to create movement and depth rather than just changing your colour.

The biggest difference is what happens after you leave the salon. Traditional colour grows out with a clear line where your natural colour meets the colour we've applied. Lived in colour is designed to soften that. We usually work in a shadow root or low light close to your natural colour, so as it grows, it blends instead of showing a harsh line.

This is also why these appointments can take longer than a standard colour. There's no set pattern we follow. We're looking at your natural colour, your hair, and how you want it to grow out, then building the placement around that.
