OH MY GOODNESS!!! MKS Turns 6 this month 🥳

I actually can’t believe it… SIX YEARS of helping people with their skin just feels absolutely wild to even say.

Some days it feels like it’s been a lifetime and other days it feels like I blinked and somehow are at six years.

I really want to start by saying a massive thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey with me.

I will never take for granted just what it means for someone to put their trust in me to help them with their skin but to also choose to support my small clinic and purchase their skincare from me.

Every appointment, product order, recommendation, review, opening my emails and following here on social media means more than you probably realise.

Thank you, as always, for supporting my small business!

Six years is a pretty incredible milestone and I genuinely wouldn’t have made it here without you.

Here’s to the next chapter of MKS! 🥂

August 🌸📚👩🏻‍💻✨
Are these months just going faster and faster?!

So much behind the scenes stuff this month at MKS. From the last few Dermaviduals product training modules to planning the next 12 months to working on creating the foundations for those plans… it’s so tricky trying to balance it all as a solo operator but I’m really looking forward to trying to make it all happen 🤗

And to be completely honest, virtual consults still haven’t launched. They absolutely are still going to be an option! But there has been quite a few delays along the way and I just put that on hold to save my sanity 😂 but definitely trying to sort the last couple set up issues in the next couple weeks 🤞🏼

But stayed tuned because busy season is about to hit!! 🤩

I’ll be sending updates via email as things happen and launch so be sure to sign up (there is a link in bio if you’d like to stay in the loop) 📧

Let’s all have an amazing September 🤍🫶🏼🌼

PS: A few new things I haven’t even had time to announce are mixed in there 🙊

Who else doesn’t want 5 different serums?! 🙋🏻‍♀️

Because who has time for that?!

But that’s where custom skincare comes into play 🤩

Today’s custom skincare is all about pigmentation AND hydration!

But still being considerate to support overall skin health, be rich in antioxidants and consider collagen and elastin.

Looking after your skin doesn’t need to be complicated 🫶🏼

❣️Quick skin tip:

It is so important to know your skin type and not solely just focus on what your skin concerns are when it comes to choosing skincare.

I have helped many clients over the last 6 years and getting their base routine correct for their skin type has actually got them some amazing results!

And that is before we even address the concerns specifically with additional skincare, like serums.

Getting that base skincare routine right will always be the most important part of a skincare routine.

In my professional opinion anyway 😎🫶🏼

5 hills I will die on as a skin clinic owner 🫣
Part 2….

1. No rings on beauty/skin therapists hands when doing a facial 🙅🏻‍♀️

2. Hair pulled back on the beauty/skin therapist during a treatment - no one wants your hair on them during a facial 😵‍💫

3. Neck and décolletage included in every single facial. Never as an add on or charged separately… your face ends at your décolletage!

4. Electric blanket on the facial bed in winter. IYKYK 😌

5. No client should ever feel they need to apologise for their skin (this I feel very passionate about!) 🫶🏼

Ok these could also be considered pet peeves… but who else agrees?!

[Also side note for # 3, the only exception is if there is actually a reason the neck and décolletage shouldn’t be included.]

Let’s pack some skincare orders 🛍️

Both clients have been on personalised Dermaviduals for a while now so just a little restock for them 🤗

One of the biggest mistakes I see isn’t people using the “wrong” products…

Which that is definitely pretty common…

But it’s people changing products too quickly.

When your skin isn’t behaving, it’s tempting to buy something new every week hoping the next product will be the one that fixes everything. And I know this because I’ve definitely felt like that before.

But unfortunately, constantly switching products makes it incredibly difficult to know what’s actually helping (and also what isn’t) and it can leave your skin barrier more irritated than when you started.

Plus products need more than a few days to actually work in terms of making change on a cellular level and also helping to change the way the skin is functioning.

It’s also important to remember that more products doesn’t always mean better skin.

Sometimes the biggest improvement comes from simplifying your routine, being consistent and giving your skin time to respond.

And if you’re not sure what your skin actually needs, that’s exactly what I’m here to help with.

July 📚⛄️👩🏻‍💻✨
We are officially in the second half of 2026!!

Which is absolutely crazy 😅 but also is super exciting because there are so many things that I have been working on the last 6 months that are slowly going to start rolling out.

It’s always hard spending so much time working on the systems and foundations of a business because it really is a leap of faith. But I’m so excited for the next 12 months… hopefully I can make it all happen 🤞🏼

I won’t lie though, solo operator life definitely has pros and cons and one of the cons is there is never enough time!

Oh and I’m trying to learn and do like 20 different jobs 😂

But I love it!

So it’s been a quieter month on socials as I’ve been doing a lot behind the scenes.

Also a lot of training as well. I’ve had my yearly dermaviduals product training and also refreshing some of my Bare Roots training as well.

And my little sister turned 30!!! Like how did that happen 🫣

Ok back to finalising something I hope to launch next week… 🤗

And I hope August is an amazing month for you!!! 🤍

If your skin has suddenly become dry, tight, dull or more sensitive lately, it might not be your skincare products causing the issue.

Winter can have huge impact on our skin.

The combination of colder weather, lower humidity, indoor heating and hotter showers can leave skin feeling dehydrated, uncomfortable and more reactive than usual.

The good news?

You don’t always need an entirely new skincare routine.

Often a few simple adjustments are enough to better support your skin through the colder months.

This is something I’ve been discussing with many of my clients recently and it’s a great reminder that our skin is constantly changing.

What worked beautifully in summer may not be exactly what your skin needs in winter.

If you’re feeling confused about what your skin needs right now, an Initial Consultation allows me to assess your skin, review your current routine and create a personalised skincare plan tailored to your skin concerns and goals ✨

Have you noticed a difference in your skin this winter? Let me know below 🤍

How to add SIV to your routine 🩶 If you’ve been delaying trying SIV because you’re not sure how to use it, don’t worry! I got you 🫶🏼

So a skincare routine could look like:

1. Cleanse
2. Hydration spray - if you use one
3. SIV Biome Balance Serum
4. Serums
5. Eye Cream
6. Moisturiser

You may be using less or even more products but that think of this as a rough guide.

It’s super easy to use and takes literally seconds to apply!

Make sure you shake the bottle really well so you disperse the bacillus spores and then apply a few drops to your finger tips and press onto the skin.

I recommend 2-3 drops for face, neck and décolletage.

Then massage in.

It is literally that easy!

And then you can carry on with the rest of your routine.

Any questions send me a DM but SIV is now available on my website and in clinic 🤩
