WHO LIKES A COLD DIP? πŸ₯Ά

I'll freely admit to start with it was a challenge, but it's become my 'go to' way to start my day.
β˜†
There's a list of well documented reasons why cold exposure is good for you, but here's what I feel after a 3min cold shower, or dip in the wintery ocean.

πŸ₯Ά Awake - I feel VERY awake!

πŸ₯Ά Present - Getting cold can take some serious concentration and control. To get through it you need to stay in the moment and just be. Slow your breath and calm your mind.

πŸ₯Ά Accomplished - like I've overcome an obstacle or dominated a challenge, which I have!

πŸ₯Ά Calm - this one hits a couple of minutes after I've finished and start to warm up. I feel all of the above emotions and feelings wrapped into one.

Not long ago my good mate ran the Rottnest Island Marathon. During his training for the marathon, I accompanied him on some big runs (the last one was 35km) so when he crossed the line on the day, all I could think was, "why aren't I running with him?!" πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

So when he registered for the Perth Marathon, the idea of not crossing the line with him wasn't an option.
β˜†
It's going to be tough though as I've started working part time as a labourer with a stonemason, not to mention I'm nearly 48 years old!

So in the coming weeks of training I'll be posting my training progress and how I go about my recovery process.
