Did you know your hair colour looks best when it compliments your skin tone?

For example, ever wonder why Jenifer Aniston's warm honey toned hair makes her skin look so healthy? Or why when a pale woman dyes her hair black it makes her look sickly?

Colours can compliment or work against each other. Think of it like choosing colours for walls and furniture in the home - you choose ones that compliment each other.

Work out your skin tone by looking in the mirror closely - are you fair, medium or dark?
And then determine whether your skin tone is warm or cool - more close to the blues/greens/purples or the red/pink/yellows.
From here, you can pick a hair colour that compliments you!

Here's some great tips for voluminous hair!

1. Shampoo - opt for a volumising shampoo and really massage it into the scalp

2. Conditioner - avoid hydrating or smoothing conditioners, they weigh the hair down.

3. Blowdrying - blow dry your hair upside down to make the roots stand up, or alternatively use a barrel brush and twist at the roots.

4. Tease - tease the underneath hair at the root.

5. Hairspray - opt for a volumising hairspray, and use it to set the finished look.

6. Layers - next time you are here, talk to us about adding some layers into your hair!

7. Brushing - don't brush your hair too often as it stimulates oil production in the follicles and weighs the hair down.

8. Don't wash your hair everyday!

9. Try a volumising powder - gets rid of oil at the scalp and encourages volume!

10. Crimp the underlayers - a secret tip - use a crimping iron in the underneath of the hair, crimping where you would usually tease. Keep the top hair straight :)
