This is the first time I’ve ever entered Belle‑Issa into any kind of industry awards and, if I’m completely honest, I nearly didn’t.

There are so many incredible salons and talented beauty professionals here in WA, and that little voice of imposter syndrome very nearly convinced me that we weren’t ready or that we wouldn’t stand a chance.

But eventually, I thought… what the heck? Let’s just put ourselves out there and give it a go.

And I am SO glad I did.

To see Belle‑Issa recognised for our marketing, to be named a finalist for Beauty Therapist of the Year, and to watch Indy be recognised as a Rising Star this early in her career feels incredibly special.

I know how much heart, thought and hard work goes into this little salon behind the scenes. So to have our work acknowledged alongside so many amazing people in our industry is something I’m genuinely so proud of.

The winners will be announced at the WASSABA Gala in October, but whatever happens on the night, being able to say that our little team is a three-category finalist already feels like such a win.
