Behind every brand there is a story.

This is ours.

MopTops Haircare was built by two people. Chris, a third generation printer who designed our logo font by hand and sourced our Mop Squad character artist through his Warner Brothers connections. And me, 45 years behind the chair, 20 years specialising in children’s hair.

We always said his strengths were my weaknesses and my weaknesses were his strengths. We were a good balance.

We had two years building it together. I lost him. The product range, the workshops, the national television, the radio, the dads across Perth, Western Australia showing up with brushes in their hands I built after.

He never got to see it.

But he is in every bottle. Every logo. Every workshop.

This is what MopTops Haircare is built on.

Mum called dad to pack an overnight bag.

Her daughter had gone into hospital unexpectedly. Just bring the basics.

He packed everything she asked for.

And then he added the hair kit.

Not because anyone told him to. Because doing his daughter’s hair was just part of who he was now.

That night, in a hospital bed, he recreated the reindeer sock bun from my Christmas in July workshop.

A nurse stopped and smiled.

“Wow. Love your hair. Did mummy do it?”

His little girl smiled back.

“No. My daddy did.”

The nurse called the other nurses in to see.

A mum told me this story years later. I still think about it.

This is what the Daddy Daughter Hair Workshops are really about. Not hair. Never just hair.

I told Wayne on Tuesday night that dads set the bar for the type of man their daughter will one day choose.

He didn’t say a word for a second.

Then he said, yeah. That’s so true.

That’s what the MopTops Daddy Daughter Hair Workshops are really about. Not the hair. The window of opportunity is four to ten years old. Blink and it’s gone.

One hour. One dad. One daughter. Zero to Hair Hero.

This Father’s Day, Saturday 6 September, some dads are going to get it.

And that’s a wrap.

Last night I sat down with Wayne at Edge Radio Australia and talked for a full hour about the MopTops Daddy Daughter Hair Workshops.

An hour. I don’t think either of us noticed the time go.

We talked about dads, daughters, connection, and why this workshop changes things in ways nobody expects.

The Father’s Day experience on Saturday 6 September is locked in and already building momentum.

If you want to be first to know when bookings open, DM me WAITLIST and I’ll make sure you’re on the list.

Follow along for updates as we build toward September.

A huge thank you to my beautiful friends Wilson and Davy for coming along to support me last night. You two are the best.

That zigzag parting was done by a dad.

A dad who walked into our workshop not knowing where to start. Who sat down, picked up a comb, and learned something nobody had ever taught him.

How to show up for his daughter through her hair.

In 60 minutes he learned how to detangle without tears, how to part and style her hair with confidence, and how to use products made specifically for her hair.

He leaves with a take home toolbox with everything he needs to continue the magic at home.

And mum gets a front row seat to watch their bond grow stronger every time dad does her hair.

This Saturday 13 June, Joondalup Perth. 9am. 10 spots only. Children must be aged 4 and above.

Two days. A few spots. One decision that changes everything.

He did that.

Not a hairdresser. Not a professional. Just a dad who showed up for his daughter and learned something new.

In 60 minutes he learned how to detangle without tears, how to style her hair with confidence, and how to use products made specifically for her hair.

We did not land on 60 minutes by accident. After years of running these workshops we know that 60 minutes is the sweet spot. Dads are focused. Daughters are engaged. Every single minute is intentional.

He leaves with a take home toolbox with everything he needs to continue the magic at home.

And mum gets a front row seat to watch their bond grow stronger. Every single morning.

That memory is priceless. And it starts on Saturday 13 June.

This is the video that Perth could not stop watching.

The West Australian filmed it. Maggie Dent shared it with her national audience. Over 135,000 views combined.

Because when dads swap tools for hairbrushes, the whole country pays attention.

That was then.

This Saturday 13 June is now.

One week. 10 spots. Joondalup Perth. 9am. 60 minutes that changes every school morning after it.

The dads in this video walked in not knowing what to do with their daughters hair.

They walked out changed.

That is exactly what happens on Saturday 13 June.

Spots are going. Do not wait until they are gone.

This is what our Daddy Daughter Hair Workshops are really about.

Not the ponytail. Not the detangler. Not the toolbox.

The time. The connection. The moment a daughter looks up at her dad and knows he showed up for her.

Saturday 13 June, Joondalup Perth. 9am. 10 spots only.

The West Australian published the story.

6PR read it and called us the same day.

Basil Zempilas wanted to talk about it on the morning show. Then 6PR called back that afternoon and put us on the drive home show with Adam Shand as well.

Two live radio interviews. One day. All because a newspaper ran a story about dads swapping tools for hairbrushes in Perth.

This is what happens when what you build is genuinely needed.

Perth did not just read about our Daddy Daughter Hair Workshops. Perth talked about them. On air. To the whole city.

That was then. Saturday 13 June is now.

8 days. 10 spots. Joondalup Perth. 9am. 60 minutes.

The dads who book this week are the dads who show up differently for their daughters next Saturday.

Are you one of them?

When the West Australian ran this story we did not expect what happened next.

over 135,000 views. Shared by Maggie Dent to her national audience. Perth dads and daughters featured in one of Australia's most read newspapers.

The headline said it all.

Dads swap tools for hairbrushes.

That is exactly what happens in our Daddy Daughter Hair Workshops. Tradies, professionals, single dads, bonus dads. Every kind of dad. All of them showing up for their daughters in a way that changes everything.

Perth's original Daddy Daughter Hair Workshops. A decade of proof.
