Sorry it’s been a wile since I posted anything ….I just wanted share a little about keratin treatments .
But first here is a client that i have been doing keratin on for a while now . As a result of some health issues my client had a small patch near her crown that had been getting progressively more frizzy so we targeted this patch with some keratin .
Frizzy hair usually has a lot more protein than moisture so it is harder to tame with normal blowdrying and straightening with an iron. As the hair has less moisture it also attracts moisture from humid conditions which then just makes the hair frizzy again . By taming this section with keratin it blocks the humidity to keep it more manageable .
I prefer to do keratin treatment rather than nano in Hedland as we have humid days , windy days and going from air-con to heat all seem to add to the challenges of keeping hair nice .
Both treatments have excellent reasons to apply that I would trust in your hairdressers consultation .
This is why I choose keratin-
1. It smoothes the cuticle layer ( outside of the hair which are like scales of a fish ) when the hair is compromised either from mechanical damage eg. Blowdrying, irons or rough brushing even windy days the cuticle becomes raised and rough to touch resulting in the loss of moisture.
Keratin adds a layer to protect the hair and tame the frizz keeping the natural volume .
2. It doesn’t last forever - keratin will last 2-4 months and each wash a little disappears which means no commitment to the client . So if you dont have time to get to the hairdresser no drama. Although I do find that clients love smooth manageable hair .

As humans we like change … so some days we like dead straight smooth hair , some days we like the wash and wear wave especially if swimming and beach days don’t have time to do hair . Or on special occasions when we dress up and want a few curls that don’t frizz.
