The pH of your skin is critical to your skin health. Skin pH is influenced by environmental, topical and internal factors. The optimal pH for our skin is 4.5 - 5.5 which is quite acidic. The closer an ingredient or product's pH is to your natural skin surface pH, the better it is for your skin. 😍

It is well known that when we feel stressed, we can reach for food - often sugary foods or high carb foods that quickly convert to glucose. These spikes in glucose can throw hormones out of whack just enough to increase sebum production. An increase in sebum leads to sticky skin cells that don't desquamate effectively, which leads ultimately to acne. As the acne gets worse, so do our stress levels and on it goes. 😩
