Barrier first treatment in action 👆

This beautiful client came to us with dry, cracked and stinging skin. Eczema around the eyes and across the forehead. As a side concern there was also congestion and small breakouts present.

As much as you want to treat the congestion, there’s no point without ensuring the barrier actually knows how to handle what you will throw at it.

This after photo is a result of Corneotherapy using . We have been treating the eczema and as a result the inflammation has naturally calmed the congestion and breakouts.

Nothing she used was targeting congestion, so how amazing is it to see what happens when the barrier is happy!

✨ Why we don’t offer dermaplaning or microdermabrasion ✨

At Blush, we believe in treating the skin with a barrier-focused approach, even when it comes to exfoliation!

While the mechanical action of dermaplaning and microdermabrasion can create an immediate feeling of smoothness, they aren’t treatments we feel are necessary for healthy, balanced skin. For such a short lived feeling of smooth skin (before the prickles set in!) it’s not worth the long term barrier disturbance in our opinion.

We prefer treatments that support the skin barrier, encourage long-term skin health and work with your skin rather than repeatedly removing or mechanically exfoliating its surface. If your after smooth skin, we have 100’s of other ways this can be achieved, all with your barrier as our first consideration!
