Where do I begin… 🥲

I always say how much I love my job, I get to experience so much of the lead up with the bride and form this friendship of getting to know their story and the journey it took to get here.

However this time I knew the story, the journey it took to get to this day because I’ve seen it all. This person had been around my whole life from the minute I was born and we have experienced so much of life together.

My gorgeous aunty Lou got her day.

A day she had been dreaming of her entire adult life.

There is always pressure on a wedding day, any vendor feels it. But when it’s family, when it’s for someone you know deserves utter perfection there can’t be a hair out of place.

I am always honored to be apart of someone’s special day, but to be there the morning of on Lou’s day was such a full circle moment, it was really something special.

The venue was outstanding with Melbourne turning on the weather thankfully, the make up was flawless, the flowers were stunning and you could not fault these absolutely beautiful photos 🙌🏻

To my gorgeous aunty Louise Novak , you were absolutely beautiful. You deserve endless happiness and I was so blessed to be there to watch your fairytale day unfold.

One of the most rawest and realest moments for a morning of… a mum doing her daughters dress up or putting her veil on. The finishing touches before her daughter walks down that isle to the man she’s dreamt about marrying for so long.

Each morning for my gorgeous brides are all so different. Some are so so lucky and get these moments with their parents and others have their special someone watching over them from above.

Either way it’s a day of real and raw moments, of love and laughter.

When I look at photos like this if I could give any advice to my brides…. For these moments have the ones there that truly are a piece of you, are apart of your ins and out and weekly day to day.

Wedding days are not for people passing through, they’re not for keeping the peace or making sure everyone’s okay with who you have invited.

Your day is for these moments. The BIG moments. The forever moments.

You only want your forever people there to witness it ✨

All texture, all twists, something different, no structure like knot bun, something I haven’t been asked for in a while… and I absolutely loved creating this with my amazing bride Sharni ❤️

With this particular style we organized a trial, which made for such a smooth morning of 🙌🏻

I’m Whitney Elise, I am the Hair Stylist behind Hair by Whitney Elise. My little side hustle that almost 12 years ago was just a bit of extra cash here and there. Whilst working full time in a hair salon I found my ‘niche’, my passion… Event Hair Styling.

Now let’s get personal let me introduce my home life.… whilst some things haven’t changed as my partner Ben and I celebrated 13 years together this year 👫…. A lot has changed and my life has never been busier!

I’m a mum to 3 beautiful little humans Austin, Lainie and Bodhi. I’m currently coming out of my baby era into my school mum era which I’m absolutely loving! 😍
We live up in the “Hills” surrounded by farmland.
My boys keep me busy with constant Football & Basketball training sessions and games, whilst my daughter sticks to creating artworks, drawing and constantly filling my fridge with paintings.

Ben and I have just learned to embrace the chaos! We live a very FULL life running a small business each along side our kids chaotic schedules ❤️

A few things about me… I love a good tv series (TSITP, Off Campus, Mcleods Daughters…) I’m a hopeless romantic (yay for a Pisces!), LOVE a saucy book, I’m a mad Collingwood supporter, I love walking with my two English blue staffies and I absolutely love dinner and drinks with my girl friends after a long week!

You’re probably wondering, how in the world do I fit in work?

Hair by Whitney Elise is my other baby, it has been amazing and so easy for me to work around my kids. Leaving the salon environment and jumping into Wedding Hair made me fall back in love with hair again, it gave me exactly what I needed… LOVE and FREEDOM!

As I said before, I am a hugeeeeee romantic so working in the wedding industry is absolutely ME! Give me the gooey stories of how you first met, show me the ring and give me all the little tiny details of how your days going to be perfect… I AM SO THERE!

So there you have it, this is me. These tiny humans who fill my soul, the man who has my heart and stands beside me and the business that gave me my passion back 🌅

“Just give me something up? Something up? for older women”

This was the response I got from a gorgeous Mother of the Bride when I asked what our plan was. My response was pretty simple…

Older women’s looks do not exist in my vocabulary!

So I decided something on trend, something simple and with lots of texture was our plan. We had plenty of hair to work with, keeping in mind her hair is shoulder length so the thickness made up for the length 🙌🏻

She loved it. I loved it. Paired with a gorgeous olive green dress she radiated confidence and looked amazing!

TRIAL DAYS!!.. are some of my favorite appointments. Why? Because we spend 1.5 hours getting to know YOU! We chat and fiddle and smooth out all the kinks and “what ifs”. We decide if your and up or down girlie, a textured or smooth look or are we multiple looks for the day? 💃🏽
