Introducing myself, I’m Brooke and our family have just relocated to Roxby Downs. I’m a fully qualified hairdresser that specialises in head lice treatment and children’s hair cuts. I’m excited to be offering these services to Roxby Downs.

As of February 2024 we are including children’s haircuts as part of our services at Lice Away. starting at $30 for a cut, this is also a disability friendly service and happy to accommodate to your child’s needs to make sure they feel comfortable and relaxed.

A little bit about me.

I completed my hairdressing apprenticeship in 2011 and begin my hairdressing career in a range of roles from Senior Stylist to Manager of Salon Floor. I then decided to take a break and focused on Youth Development when I found myself working in remote communities in the Northern Territory. I then never expected my two roles as Youth Development Worker and Hairdresser would combine.

This started my journey in delivering Hairdressing workshops within remote communities. I soon became aware that there was a huge gap in head lice education. I soon began educating families and youth on the treatment of head lice. This continued for several years, this is when I met my amazing husband and soon became a mother of two. Still working combining both roles in every job I worked within.

We found ourselves missing Adelaide and decided to move south and leave the NT. This where I struggled to find a job that I could combine both roles. After working within Business Development Management I had a new passion for the NDIS sector but still missing the combination of roles I had in the NT.

I decided it was my time to work in my three favourite roles, this is where I ventured out and created Lice Away. Working between my BDM role, as a Lice Technician and Children’s Cutting Specialist; once again combining my two passion driven roles.

As a mother of 2 young kids we have battled head lice throughout Child Care and Preschool, now with my oldest starting school this year I know the battle won’t be over.

Completing lice treatments can be time consuming, while also needing to cleaning the household that comes with treating the lice. We are here to help and take the hair treatment off your shoulders.

We use eco-friendly products and apply treatment to the individuals hair and complete removal of lice and eggs during the allocated session. While also providing at home advice and direction with bedding / cleaning. All individuals receive take home treatment to follow up 5 days after initial treatment or they can return at discounted cost to receive follow up treatment.

This service can be used as a preventative service or treatment service depending on the individuals needs.
