Mangrove Medusa - Dreadlocks & Crafts

I hope you have all been staying happy and healthy! ☺️

Due to finding out I'm pregnant and a nasty Flu going around, I have made the hard choice to stay closed a little longer, due to early pregnancy (I've been unable to get my flu shot this year).
I apologize for the inconvenience and am looking forward to getting back to work soon.
Know that I am trying to do the best by everyone and my new bub 🙏
I'll be looking to get some online sales happening soon, as I catch up with everything during this crazy and also exciting time.
I look forward to seeing you all again and getting back to it.

I recently popped by Oriel's for a tidy up of her wonderful dreadlocks. I think it had been about 5.5 months since her last tidy up and extension swap.
All extensions still in place and strong, though have faded from from their original colour, which is to be expected (no dye lasts forever). They are still looking bright and happy though and are settling into her original dreads nicely. 😉👌

She never thought she could have dreadlocks with her thin hair, but I worked my magic and she's still rocking them beautifully ☺️

I popped by Laiana's for a tidy up of her 80 bases. I always forget how much hair she has 😅
They are looking neat and tidy again with so much character and a new funky colour through them!
I think they are looking so great. They are exactly where I expect them to be nearly a year in.
We have seen a lot of shrinkage, but the cool sea waters will do that to ones dreads and is only making them stronger! She will also start needing less maintenance in the future the way her dreaddies are maturing.
I can't wait to see what they look like this time next year! I'm pretty proud of this head!

Karen popped her lovely head in just before Christmas to get a quick tidy up.
Her natural dreads are holding up wonderfully, however her extensions have shrunk up quite a bit after spending time in the surf and living her busy life.
Some have become a little weighty on the ends of her natural dreads, causing some weak points at the joins, which were fixed on this appointment, but we have discussed possibly replacing a few of the extensions in the future.
This isn't a common occurrence, but Karen has baby fine hair, though strong, is very soft and thin. This has caused little shrinkage in her natural dreads, where as the other hair-type in the extensions were much more course, allowing them to gain much character.
This can happen because the extension has one point of attachment and can move differently to your natural hair as that's attached to your scalp.
In this case, the extensions have shrunk and compacted at the point just below the join, pulling hair from the join, weakening them. It is an easy fix though and as you can see, they are looking as fantastic as ever!
Hard to believe we started with about 10, just on top.
It's been an amazing adventure with you Karen! You've definately kept me on my toes and taught me some new things and skills this year. 😘

I thought you might have been missing the progress reports, since it's been a while (it's been slow going or rather not going, since the holidays set in. A well earned break I think).
Last year kicked our butts, as we worked harder than we ever have creating our own home, and we are so close (I know I keep saying that) to being done!
The ultimate crafting project. 😌
I'm getting impatient so some small reveals might come before the big FINALÈ!
I'm so proud of what we've done, but I'll be relieved when it's over..
