A year has passed since Tony left us💙🕊️🪽🐠

A Special thank you to, Cassidy and Teileah,

As I reflect on this past year, I want you both to know how grateful I am for your love, support, and friendship.

Through some of my hardest days, you showed up for me not just as staff, but as family. You carried me when I felt like I couldn’t carry myself.

Thank you for your patience, your understanding, your hugs, your laughter, and for simply being there. Your kindness has meant more than words can ever express.

I am so proud of the team we’ve built, but even more grateful for the special bond we share.

I’ve learned that strength isn’t about having it all together, it’s about continuing to move forward, one day at a time.

I’ve also had to learn so many things that Tony always took care of. From house and yard duties to learning how to drive a zero-turn mower, and not mowing it to short. Using a whipper snipper, and even filling up fuel for the mowers. They may seem like small things, but they’re milestones I’m quite proud of. Each one is a reminder that I’m capable of more than I ever thought possible.

To my family, friends, clients, and everyone who has checked in on me throughout this journey, thank you. Whether it was a written message, a phone call, a hug, or simply a touch of your hand, your kindness has carried me through some very difficult days.

I’ve learned to breathe through the tears, embrace the memories, and find strength I never knew I had.

Yesterday, my beautiful granddaughter Elva, aged 4 reminded me of something very special. She said, Nanny, you aren’t alone anymore. You have the ocean all around you, and Poppy is up in the sky looking over you. Sometimes the greatest comfort comes from the smallest voices. 🩵

It’s the kind of memory you’ll likely treasure forever. 🩵

Founded in 2003, NAK HAIR celebrates 23 years of growth as a proudly Australian made & owned brand, loved locally and globally and trusted by salons and stylists.

For over 20 years, every bottle has been crafted and manufactured right here in Australia, something I have always been proud to support, knowing it reflects quality, integrity and ethical practices.

One thing I will always be grateful for is the incredible NAK community. Throughout my loss, they checked in, showed kindness and reminded me that this journey is about so much more than hair. Their support and genuine care will never be forgotten. ✨

Wrapping up the year at Hair With Flair felt like a moment to pause and reflect.

Being the owner and manager of the salon, it’s been an incredibly full season. The past six months have required strength in ways I never expected, and there were moments where simply showing up took everything I had. I’ve carried this time while learning to navigate life without my wonderful husband, Tony, who was always so proud of me and of the salon — his belief in me continues to guide me every day.

To my beautiful team: thank you for your loyalty, compassion, and for holding space — for me, for each other, and for our clients. Your support has meant more than words can express.
To our loyal clients: thank you for your patience, kindness, and unwavering trust. Your presence, conversations, and continued support have carried me through more than you may realise.

This journey hasn’t been easy, but it has been one of resilience, growth, and deep gratitude. I’m so proud of what we’ve continued to build at Hair With Flair, even through the hardest moments.

My first birthday without Tony, I celebrated,

It was a reminder of my resilience. 🤍

I would like to express my deepest gratitude for the overwhelming amount of kindness and support I have received following the sudden passing of my beloved husband, Tony.

I’m extremely thankful for all of your thoughtful messages, phone calls, flowers and cooked meals.

Your understanding has brought great comfort during this unimaginably difficult time, and I am truly touched by your generosity of support.

I have decided that the salon will reopen on Monday 23rd June. With the support of Alarna & Cassidy who will be assisting me during this time.

Please note that, in time, there will be changes to the salons operating days and hours. These updates will be communicated at a later date.

It is with shattered hearts that we announce that our beloved Tone, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning.

There are no words to explain what has happened, we are absolutely destroyed and broken with the thought of not having you here with us anymore. We love you!

While this has been a difficult couple of days trying to process what has happened, our family is extremely thankful for all of the messages, phone calls, flowers and cooked meals.

Until further notice the salon will be closed while we process our loss. Please be patient.

We will share details for the funeral service in the comimg days.
