Coastal Zen Therapeutics
Restorative body therapy for pain reduction, relaxation, mobility and vitality. Pregnancy Massage.
Self care reset.
As a therapist, the way I show up for my clients is directly influenced by how I tend to my own body, boundaries, and energy.
When my cup is full, I work with more presence, more clarity, and a deeper sense of connection.
Self-care isn’t indulgent — it’s responsibility. It’s how I honour the work I do, the people I support, and the values that guide my practice.

Why Scar Therapy Helps
By working slowly and safely with the tissue (and the nervous system beneath it), we can help:
🔹 Reduce adhesions
🔹 Improve range of movement
🔹 Calm overactive tissue
🔹 Improve circulation & lymph flow
🔹 Support emotional processing around the surgery
🔹 Help your body feel like your body again
Your scar can change.
Your body can change.
And you don’t have to do it alone.

✨ Laparotomy & Stoma Scar Care — Your Body Can Change, Adapt & Heal ✨
Every scar tells a story — not just of surgery, but of resilience, survival, and everything your body has moved through to get you here.
These before & after photos show what’s possible when we support scar tissue with gentle, skilled hands.
This client came to me with a 9 year old laparotomy scar and a stoma site that felt tight, sensitive, and restricted. With targeted scar therapy, nervous-system informed touch, and safe movement integration, their tissue became:
🌿 Softer
🌿 Less reactive
🌿 More mobile
🌿 Better integrated with the surrounding fascia
🌿 Visually calmer and flatter
Scar tissue is living, responsive tissue. It can learn, adapt, and regain freedom — just like you.
You do not need to put up with pulling, puckering, discomfort, or limitations after abdominal surgery. There are options.
What We Can Work On Together
✨ Laparotomy scars
✨ Stoma site tension
✨ Adhesion-related discomfort
✨ Post-surgical pulling or stiffness
✨ Body image and confidence after surgery
✨ Gentle reconnection with your abdomen after medical procedures
Healing isn’t just physical — it’s functional and emotional too.
If you’re living with abdominal or stoma scars and want to improve comfort, mobility or confidence in your body, you’re welcome to reach out or book a session at Coastal Zen Therapeutics.

✨ Sternotomy Scars: More Than Skin Deep ✨
An open-heart surgery leaves more than a line down the chest —
it leaves a story. A memory. A protective armour the body builds when the heart has been touched, repaired, opened.
But healing doesn’t end when the stitches do.
Over time these scars can tighten, pull, restrict the breath, limit shoulder movement… and quietly hold emotional weight.
Because when the heart has been cut open, the body remembers.
Scar therapy helps change that memory.
Softening.
Reconnecting.
Opening.
Allowing deeper breaths.
More freedom through the chest and shoulders.
And often — a surprising emotional release, like the body finally exhaling what it’s been guarding.
This beautiful 11-year-old sternotomy scar responded well with its first session. (This is a picture during the 2nd session)
Not erasing the story — just helping it settle back into the body with more ease.
Because sometimes, healing the scar is part of healing the heart. ❤️🩹
Scars Tell a Story — But They Don’t Have to Define Your Comfort ✨
Scars are more than skin deep.
Many people living with scars experience changes in pain, sensitivity, movement, and overall wellbeing — sometimes long after the scar has healed on the surface.
At Coastal Zen Therapeutics, gentle scar therapy supports your body in restoring comfort, connection, and function.
Whether your scar is new or decades old, soft, supportive hands-on care can help improve:
🌿 Sensation
🌿 Range of motion
🌿 Ease with daily activities
🌿 Connection to your body
🌿 Quality of life
Your body deserves compassionate attention.
Your story deserves to be honoured.
And healing is always possible.
If you’re curious whether scar therapy may support you, feel free to reach out or book a session.

Your body doesn’t need to be forced to heal.
It needs to be reminded that it’s safe.
RECONNECTION BENEATH THE SURFACE!
Through light, responsive touch, the body is reminded that it’s safe to move again.
💧 Hydration returns.
🌬️ Breath moves deeper.
🕊️ Flow and awareness return.
Healing isn’t about changing the scar — it’s about reuniting the conversation between surface and depth.
Your body knows how to heal; it just needs the right conditions to remember.
🌿 Experience the gentle art of scar therapy at Coastal Zen Therapeutics.
Beneath the visible line of a surgical scar lies a complex network of fascia, nerves, and connective tissue that may still be holding onto the body’s memory of injury, surgery, or tension.
These deeper layers can become dehydrated and dense over time — like ice — restricting movement, sensation, and the natural flow of circulation.
🌿 Gentle Scar Therapy invites those deeper layers to soften and rehydrate through light, responsive touch.
This work doesn’t force tissue to change; it listens and responds — restoring the body’s ability to move, glide, and communicate. As tissue rehydrates, it becomes more supple, pliable, and connected to the rest of the body again.
This is Scar Tissue Integration.
💧 You may notice:
• Increased mobility around the scar and nearby joints
• Less pulling or tightness with everyday movement
• A sense of reconnection to an area you had “forgotten” or felt disconnected from
• Improved circulation and warmth
By melting what’s held beneath the surface, the body finds space again — for movement, comfort, and healing to flow naturally.
🕊️ Healing isn’t about force; it’s about flow returning.
A hop, step and a jump into a new shared space. Michael from BMR Remedial and Melanie from have moved into South Coast foot surgery next door to our old location.
Looking forward to seeing you all soon.
