Love myself some glam 🩷

On Friday, I worked a wedding at the beautiful Peppers Creek Barrel Room- Hunter valley wedding venue
Halfway through the morning, I received a phone call from my 15-year-old son. He was terrified. He had fallen backwards, hit his head, and split it open. There was blood everywhere.

As calmly as I could, I talked him through what to do and asked him to get his sister to call an ambulance.

Without missing a beat, Kerry, the hairstylist I was working alongside that day, picked up her phone and said, "Don't worry, I'm calling the ambulance now."

For those next few minutes, I had my son & daughter in one ear and the emergency operator in the other, while still doing everything I could to make sure my bride's morning stayed as calm as possible.

I'll never forget the kindness Olivia and her family showed me. What should have been a morning entirely about her became one filled with unexpected worry, yet they met me with nothing but compassion and understanding.

It reminded me that weddings aren't just about hair and makeup. They're about people. They're about showing up when it matters most.

Thanks to an incredible team, an understanding bride, amazing paramedics, my daughter and my eldest son, who jumped into the ambulance with his little brother, everything worked out. As soon as I finished the wedding, I headed straight to be with them.

My son is okay, he's home, recovering, and doing really well.

Friday reminded me that sometimes the biggest part of our job isn't the styling we do—it's staying calm when life throws the unexpected at us.

Thank you, Olivia and your beautiful family, for a kindness I'll never forget.
