The Image & Wellness Company
At The Image & Wellness Company, we're committed to helping women over 40 look and feel their best! It really isn’t that complicated!
Wellness Coaching is about helping those who have decided to live a healthier lifestyle, but may need a little support when it comes to knowing where to start and then helping them keep on track. It's really easy to get distracted and confused by the myriad information about diet & exercise available, not to mention all the hype around ‘superfoods’ and of course the latest breaking news about food

Sometimes we all need a helping hand — and sometimes what we really need is help knowing where to start.
The “old-school” wellness coach in me would say that this is the answer to most weight-related struggles. But I also think we need to acknowledge that obesity today is very different from what it once was. We now live in a world where ultra-high processed foods (UHPFs) are everywhere — cheap, accessible, heavily marketed, and increasingly accepted as the standard diet, rather than the exception.
In that context, it’s easy to see why weight-loss medications can feel like a good option. When people start to see the scales move, they feel proud, encouraged, and inspired. Progress creates momentum.
But this is where my concern lies.
The downside of weight-loss drugs is that the inspiration often becomes focused on taking more of the drug, rather than doing more of the things that will actually sustain long-term health. Too often, people prescribed these medications are not also supported with an exercise routine, nutrition education, or a healthy eating plan.
So when the medication stops, what happens?
We return to our “normal” lifestyle and way of eating — and unsurprisingly, the weight returns.
Which is why weight-loss drugs may not be the silver bullet they’re being touted to be. As with anything, if something seems too good to be true, it usually is.
That said, I do believe that with greater responsibility on both sides — the prescriber and the person being prescribed — weight-loss drugs could form part of the solution to the obesity crisis. Used alongside structured movement, education around food, and long-term behaviour change, they may act as a bridge, rather than a crutch.
Weight-loss drugs can be a tool, but they are not the answer on their own. Sustainable health still comes from learning how to nourish the body, move it regularly, and build habits that support wellbeing long after the medication ends.
Until those pieces are fully integrated into the conversation, we’ll continue treating the symptom rather than the cause.

I’m back.
After being absent for quite some time, I feel it’s finally time to make a bit of a comeback. There are so many conversations happening that I can no longer ignore.
To be completely transparent, my hiatus was because I was mentally unable to focus on advising others on wellness while I was struggling so deeply with my own. In May 2022, my partner died unexpectedly, and everything I thought I knew about coping, resilience, and strength was tested.
Since then, I’ve been trying to find my footing again. It hasn’t been easy. Grief has a way of dismantling even the most well-intentioned plans, and I learned — very humbly — that I wasn’t as well equipped to handle the downs of life as I thought I was.
They say on a plane, “Put your own oxygen mask on before assisting other passengers.” That’s exactly how this period of my life has been. I had to step back and focus on myself before I could be present for anyone else.
What this journey has taught me is that emotional health is just as important as physical health — and just like our bodies, our emotional wellbeing needs regular care, attention, and exercise.
Going forward, I’m dedicating this space to sharing my experiences — particularly around grief, loss, and despair, but more importantly, recovery. If something I share resonates with you, helps you feel less alone, or offers even a small sense of hope, then it’s worth sharing.
And of course, I’m always here to chat.
💛
Below is a painting of one of my cats I did during Covid. She was a source of constant comfort and continues to be today. Animals have a wonderful way of soothing our souls - perhaps because they see them! ❤️

That level of radical ownership is often the turning point between staying stuck and moving forward.
When goals aren’t being achieved, here are some hard but necessary questions to ask yourself:
---
# # # 1. **Are you actually committed, or just interested?**
* Are you dabbling, or are you truly all-in?
* Interest means you work when it's convenient. Commitment means you work **regardless**.
# # # 2. **Are your actions aligned with your goals?**
* Want to get fit? But still eating junk and skipping workouts?
* Want to start a business? But spending hours scrolling instead of building?
Desire is nothing without discipline.
---
# # # 3. **Are you being consistent enough?**
* Most people quit just before it starts working.
* Are you expecting 6-month results from 2 weeks of effort?
Consistency beats intensity every time.
---
# # # 4. **Are you avoiding discomfort?**
* Growth requires pain: embarrassment, failure, rejection.
* If you're only doing what feels safe or easy, you're not moving forward — you're hiding.
---
# # # 5. **Are you blaming external factors?**
* Your schedule. Your job. Your past. Other people.
* They may be *reasons*, but they're not *roadblocks*. You can either use them as fuel or let them be your cage.
---
# # # 6. **Are you over-consuming and under-executing?**
* Reading, researching, planning — these feel productive, but they don’t move the needle until **you act**.
* Are you stuck in “learning mode” because you’re scared to fail?
---
# # # Bottom Line:
Yes — you are the problem.
But **that’s good news**, because it means *you are also the solution*.
Change what you’re doing. Own your time. Drop the excuses.
And start showing up like your future depends on it — because it does.
It really does.

Let food be thy medicine! Gather up your anti-virals to short circuit a flu or cold. Herbal tea with a chunk of fresh ginger and some Manuka honey does wonders for a sore throat 😎

When we talk about 'knowing our colours' or our 'colour palette', I know that some people say "Oh, I cannot wear...(insert colour)" which is not actually true. We can all wear most colours. What's important is choosing the right version of each colour, and that's where your natural colouring comes into play. As a personal colour consultant, when I'm assessing your colour, what I'm considering is not only the hue (the actual colour) but also the intensity - how bright or soft it is, and also the value, so how light or dark it is - and this is all relative to your overall colouring - so how warm or cool you are, how clear or muted you are. If you are considering having your colours done, once you begin to identify your best colours, you'll have countless colours that will look amazing on you.
If you're wondering what to get someone (or even as a gift to yourself) for Christmas which is just around the corner, I will have special packages available which will include colour, personal styling, wardrobe audits and personal shopping experiences so keep an eye out for them here.
Alternatively send me a message and I'll add you to my mailing list so that you'll get personal style and wellness tips on a regular basis as well as first-to-know about any special promotions I have coming up.
If you know of anyone who might also be interested in knowing their colours, I'll be offering a 15% discount for anyone who shares this post.

Our appearance is almost as important as our professional achievements when it comes to how others perceive our leadership capabilities.
If we want to feel like a leader, it’s important to
look like one. If we feel and look like a leader, this will be reflected in the way others respond to us.
Read my blog article to discover why it’s so important that we dress for the role we want…

Investing the time and money into a professional photoshoot is all about creating the right image and you'll probably use the photos for a few years so getting it right is paramount. There are a several things you need to consider before you even get to the studio and starting your preparation at least a few days out is important - especially if what you think you might wear needs cleaning or maybe after COVID, no longer fits well.
See my list of considerations for ensuring a successful shoot from wardrobe options to personal grooming. If you're still not sure about what your wardrobe for the shoot would be, as a personal stylist, I'd be happy to provide some guidance. Send me a DM here on Linkedin to arrange a chat.
