Struggling with flat roots and curls all at the bottom?
This may be for you.
Long hair is heavy hair.
And when there’s no layers to lighten the load, your curls get hidden under the weight of it all.
This is where layers are your best friend.
They not only give it a great shape, they help to remove the heaviness and weight and allows your curls to come to life and live their best lives!đŸ„°
Paired with some lightweight hold and diffusing, your curls will take on a new lease of life and come alive!

Clever Curl Wonderfoam and Long hold gel.

🌾A letter to my younger self

Dear Little Char,
I’m so sorry that you grew up believing your curls weren’t beautiful.
I’m sorry you thought they were too big, too messy, too wild. I’m sorry you spent so many mornings fighting them, wishing they would just behave, wishing they looked like everyone else’s.
I know how many tears were shed in front of the mirror.
I know how desperately you wanted to fit in.
What you couldn’t see back then was that your curls were never something to hide.
They were part of who you are.
One day, you’ll stop trying to change them.
One day, you’ll learn how to care for them instead of fighting them.
And something amazing will happen...
As you learn to love your curls, you’ll slowly learn to love yourself a little more too.
Those curls that once made you feel different will become your greatest gift.
They’ll shape your career.
They’ll connect you with incredible people.
They’ll allow you to help others see the beauty in their own reflection.
You’ll watch women and children walk into your salon feeling exactly the way you once did—frustrated, embarrassed and convinced their curls are the problem.
And because you’ve lived that story, you’ll be able to tell them something you wish someone had told you...
“There is nothing wrong with your hair.”
Your curls don’t need fixing.
They deserve to be understood.
To be nurtured.
To be celebrated.
So thank you for hanging in there, little Char.
One day, those curls you’re trying so hard to change will become the reason so many people finally learn to love theirs.

With love,
Your future self đŸ€xx

Fresh new shape for Ebony’s gorgeous dark ringlets 😍
She was over having đŸ”ș hair!
Flat roots and wide ends..:And frizzy hair!
What we did:
Layers, face-framing, tidied ends to keep length.
We used good deep cleansing/clarify shampoo removing old build up.
This allowed the hair to get fully wet and hydrated.
Curl cream on the ends and humid weather gel for hold and definition

You’ve heard it before - curls need moisture. Curls need a good leave-in conditioner.

And yes that is absolutely true.
But are they also wet enough BEFORE you put that in ?! Is your hair allowing it to receive the water? (You’d be surprised how many aren’t!)
And are you locking that leave-in in with a sealer (gel)?
While leave-ins are great, your hair needs to be able to:
1. Accept water first (clean, clarified, build-up removed)
2. Seal that water in (a gel or hold product)

This is what I go through with every client who sits in my chair.
We don’t just make your hair pretty with a great cut.
We get to the bottom of WHY your hair is doing what it’s doing.
And WHERE you want it to be.

Healthy hair first - always đŸ„°

Ok - Let’s talk hydration💧
Now, if you’ve been in my chair you know that I preach getting your curls hydrated - with WATER.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good hydrating conditioner and leave-in!
But we NEED to have the conversation of getting our hair hydrated with water FIRST.
Water is part of the building blocks of having smooth, defined, frizz-free curls. (Frizz = DEhydrated)
And to me, that is a non negotiable in my curly routine.
So a quick easy way to do this: lots of squishing in the shower (squish to condish!) THEN you add your leave-ins. These seal in that precious water and helps with styling.
Honestly, water is your hairs best friend. Get that water in there and you’ll be rewarded with the best curls. Every time. ➰➰➰
Do you do this? I’d love to know đŸ„°
