I cannot tell you how many brow lami consultations I have had where the client feels the need to say -

“please don’t brush the hairs directly up” or “I don’t want to look crazy, can we brush the hairs more to the side?” -

I genuinely don’t know why this is a conversation we should even be having because why on gods green earth would I or any other artist, do that to you!? …but unfortunately it does happen 💀🫠

Not only does it look terrible, let me also explain why it IS terrible for the hair and overall look -

1. Forcing hair against its natural growth direction puts stress on the follicle and tension at the root, especially during a chemical process. Working with the growth pattern keeps the hair stronger, reduces breakage and protects the cortex long term.

2. Brushing sideways lays the hair flat against the skin for that sleek, defined finish, rather than pushing everything straight up into a stiff, flat wall of hair. It also lets you sculpt the arch, lift the tail and properly frame the face.

3. A sideways set follows where the hair naturally wants to go, so as it grows out it returns to its natural position gracefully. A straight-up set will leave brows looking dishevelled and awkward between appointments.
