The body signals it before burnout has a name.

Swipe through the specific signs and save this if more than two of them sound familiar right now.

Most people associate upper trap tightness with stress. That can be part of it. But the reason it never fully releases, no matter how much it gets massaged, is that the upper trap is doing a job it was never designed for. And until that changes the tightness comes back.

Here’s what I find interesting about this pattern.

When the diaphragm stops fully participating, which happens more often than we realise, especially under sustained pressure, the accessory breathing muscles have to pick up the load. The scalenes. The SCM. The upper traps.

Your upper traps were not designed to be a breathing muscles. When they’re asked to be one for six months, they don’t have much left for their actual job.

That’s what persistent tightness usually is. Not stress in isolation. Overload from a system that’s been compensating.

The first session starts with a conversation.

A conversation about what you're carrying, in training, in work, in life and what the body has been doing with it.

Then an assessment. Where tension is sitting, what's restricted, what the body has been compensating for without you noticing. This usually takes a minutes and it almost always finds things the person didn't come in for.

Then the treatment. Addressing what we found, not just what you mentioned. Starting with the pattern driving the complaint rather than the complaint itself.

And at the end, a clear picture of what was found and what consistent work would build toward.

That's a first session with Opna By DMP.

Mobile!! I come to you. Your home, your office, wherever makes sense for your day.

60 or 90 minutes. If it's been a while, 90 is worth it.

Recovery is not the same as rest.

Rest is the absence of demand.

Recovery is what the body does during rest. If the nervous system has downregulated enough to allow it. If the tissue isn’t holding the pattern from the week before, if sleep is actually reaching the deep restorative phases rather than just occuring.

Ypu can rest completely and not recover at all.

This is why the weekend that was supposed to fix everything doesn’t always fix everything. The body needed more than time off. It needed the right conditions.

Most people have never had someone help them create those conditions deliberately.

That’s a different experience to a day off.

Something I've been noticing.

There's a pattern in the body of someone managing a full life. It shows up the same way almost every time and most people have never had it named for them.

Swipe through.

Save this if any of the slides sound like you.

The person I work with most often isn’t a full time athlete.

They run before work because it’s the only time they can. They manage a team or run a business or raise kids or all three. They’re doing a lot.

And somewhere in the middle of all that the body has been quietly keeping score.

The neck that’s been tight, the sleep thats functional but not really restorative. The training that feels harder thean the numbers say it should.

None of it is alarming. All of it is accumulating.

This is who Opna By DMP is built for.
The full life.

If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place.

Every time your foot hits the ground when you take a step, one side of your body is holding you up.

It does it through a system of connected tissue that runs from your up through your IT band, your hip, the side of your ribcage, and into the side of your skull.

Thomas Myers calls this the Lateral Line. It’s your body’s side stabiliser.

When this line is restricted on one side, from old ankle sprains, from always running the same direction on a cambered road, from sitting with your weight shifted to one side for years, the whole body compensates.

That’s why one hip is always tighter. Why one shoulder sits higher. Why you feel yourself collapsing to one side when fatigue in a run.

It’s not a flexibility problem. It’s a line problem.

The good news: when the whole line gets addressed and not just the hip, not just the IT band, the asymmetry often resolves faster than people expect.

Save this. Check your shoulders next time you’re standing still.
