"I want brows... but I don't want them to look too much."

This is one of the most common concerns I hear from clients who have very little natural brow hair.

When you've spent years with sparse or barely visible brows, the idea of suddenly waking up with a full set of brows can feel overwhelming.

That's exactly why cosmetic tattooing is a two-step process.

At your first appointment, my goal isn't to create the boldest brow possible. It's to design a shape that suits your features and introduce soft, natural-looking definition. This gives you time to heal, adjust to your new brows, and see how they fit your face and lifestyle.

Once the brows have healed, we meet again for your perfecting appointment.

This is where we can make adjustments, add density, deepen colour if needed, and build on the result based on how you've healed and what feels right for you.

For many clients, knowing they don't have to go from "no brows" to "full brows" in one appointment makes the process feel much less intimidating.

Beautiful cosmetic tattooing should feel like a collaboration, not a surprise.

Thinking about brow tattooing but worried they'll look too much? Send me a DM with BROWS and let's chat about what's possible for you. ✨

If your acne keeps coming back, it may not be just a skincare problem.

Acne shows up on the skin, but the factors contributing to it can sometimes come from deeper within the body.

For some people, persistent acne may be influenced by:

• Hormonal patterns
• Blood sugar and insulin regulation
• Gut health and microbiome balance
• Nutrient status
• Stress and sleep quality
• Inflammatory load

This doesn't mean every acne client has the same internal drivers.

It means that when acne is recurring, inflamed, slow to heal, or not responding as expected, we may need to look beyond the surface and consider the bigger picture.

At Signature, our approach focuses on supporting the skin barrier, reducing inflammation, and creating a treatment plan that works with your skin, not against it.

We're also excited to be collaborating with , where Kathleen provides internal support for clients when deeper contributing factors may need further investigation and guidance.

Because sometimes the most effective acne plan involves supporting the skin from both the outside and the inside.

If you've been stuck in the cycle of treating your acne without understanding why it keeps returning, book an Acne Consultation and let's start uncovering what your skin may be responding to.

Proof again that consistency changes skin.

This client has been on an acne treatment plan with us and these results are a beautiful example of what happens when we stop chasing quick fixes and start supporting the skin properly.

Over this time, we have focused on:

• Rebuilding her skin barrier
• Reducing inflammation
• Clearing congestion
• Supporting healthier skin function
• Introducing skin needling to improve post-breakout marks and texture once the skin was ready

Acne management is not just about drying out breakouts.

It is about understanding why the skin is inflamed, why congestion is forming, and what the barrier needs in order to heal.

This is why we always come back to consistency.

Consistent treatments.
Consistent home care.
Consistent review and adjustment as the skin changes.

Clearer, calmer skin is possible, but it usually comes from a plan, not guesswork.

If you feel stuck with your skin, this is your reminder that acne can be managed with the right support.

Acne can feel unpredictable.

One week your skin seems calmer. The next, you're dealing with new breakouts, increased redness, or lingering marks that seem to take forever to fade.

What many people don't realise is that acne is rarely about one product, one ingredient, or one mistake.

It's often the accumulation of small daily habits that either support skin recovery or quietly work against it.

Some of the most common acne aggravators we see in clinic include:

• Picking and squeezing blemishes
• Over-cleansing and over-exfoliating
• Poor sleep and chronic stress
• High glycaemic dietary patterns
• Infrequently changed pillowcases and face towels
• Using products that don't suit your skin's condition

The challenge is that many of these habits seem harmless.

But when skin is already prone to congestion and inflammation, they can contribute to delayed healing, increased irritation, post-inflammatory pigmentation, and a longer road to improvement.

What this means for you:

Acne management is not about being perfect.

It's about understanding your individual triggers and creating a routine that supports your skin rather than constantly challenging it.

This is why two people with acne can use the same products and experience completely different results.

Skin type, barrier function, lifestyle factors, hormones, stress levels, and product selection all matter.

At Signature, we look beyond the breakout itself.

We assess the skin as a whole to identify the factors contributing to ongoing acne activity, then create a treatment and home care plan that aligns with your skin's needs.

Because clearer skin rarely comes from guessing.

It comes from understanding the why behind the acne.

Save this post for future reference, and if you're feeling stuck with recurring breakouts, book a consultation so we can help you create a plan tailored to your skin.

If you have acne, the goal is not to attack your skin harder.
It is to understand what your skin is actually asking for.

One of the biggest reasons acne stays stuck is because people treat every breakout the same way.

But acne is not one condition.
It can involve:
• Excess sebaceous activity
• Congestion
• Inflammation
• Barrier impairment
• Hormonal influences
• Product misuse
• Internal drivers and lifestyle factors

This is why copying someone else’s routine rarely works.

What helps one person may completely overwhelm another skin barrier.

We also see this constantly in clinic:
More products does not always equal better skin.

In fact, over-treating acne is one of the fastest ways to increase inflammation, delay healing, and keep breakouts cycling.

If your skin feels tight, reactive, flaky, irritated, or suddenly “sensitive to everything,” your barrier may need support before stronger actives are introduced.

A strategic acne routine should feel:
• Simple
• Consistent
• Targeted
• Appropriate for your skin condition

Not overloaded.

Because real acne management is not about guessing your way through skincare shelves.

It is about understanding:
• Your acne type
• Your barrier condition
• Your triggers
• Your current routine
• Your skin history

This is exactly why consultations matter.

When we assess acne clinically, we are not just looking at breakouts.
We are looking at the behaviour of the skin as a whole.

And often, the turning point is not adding more.
It is simplifying, regulating, and rebuilding properly.

Clearer skin usually comes from strategy, not intensity.

Coming off the pill can feel confusing when your skin suddenly changes.

For many people, breakouts appear for the first time in years, or return more inflamed, oilier and more persistent than before. That can feel frustrating, especially when your routine previously seemed to be “working.”

What’s important to understand is this:

Post pill acne is not your skin failing.
It is often your hormones recalibrating after hormonal suppression.

While the oral contraceptive pill can reduce androgen activity and oil production, stopping it allows your natural hormone signalling to resume. For some people, that shift can increase sebaceous activity, congestion and inflammatory breakouts, particularly through the lower face and jawline.

This is also why post pill breakouts are not a “detox.”

Your skin is responding to internal hormonal changes, not pushing anything out.

Clinically, this is where we take a more strategic approach.

Rather than aggressively stripping the skin or overloading it with active ingredients, we focus on:
• Supporting barrier function
• Regulating excess oil activity
• Reducing inflammation
• Strengthening skin resilience
• Looking at possible internal drivers alongside appropriate referrals when needed

One of the biggest mistakes we see is clients waiting until acne becomes severe before seeking support.

Preparation matters.

If you are planning to come off the pill and have a history of acne, oily skin, irregular cycles, or androgen sensitivity, starting skin support early can make a significant difference.

Post pill acne is common.
It is manageable.
But it usually responds best to consistency, patience and a treatment plan tailored to your skin.

If you are navigating post pill skin changes and feel unsure where to start, we are here to help.

Acne Awareness Month is important to us because acne is never “just cosmetic”.

It can affect confidence, stress levels, social comfort, and the way someone feels in their own skin every single day.

This result is the outcome of consistency, education, barrier support, targeted treatment planning, and regular in clinic care through our acne treatment program.

No quick fixes.
No aggressive over-stripping.
No chasing trends.

Just a personalised treatment approach designed around what this client’s skin actually needed.

One of the biggest things we focus on with acne management is helping clients understand that clearer skin takes time. Skin healing is a process, not a single treatment.

This before and after is proof of what can happen when we combine:
• Consistent professional treatments
• Correct home care
• Skin barrier support
• Lifestyle guidance
• Ongoing adjustments as the skin changes

To our clients trusting us through their skin journey, thank you. Watching your confidence grow alongside your skin health is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

If you’ve been struggling with breakouts and feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice online, our treatment plans are designed to give you structure, guidance, accountability and a plan that evolves with your skin.

DM us “ACNE” to learn more about our acne treatment plans and consultation options.

As a skin therapist, I’ll always say this.

You do not need a 12 step routine or trending products to have balanced, healthy skin.

You need consistency.
You need ingredients that make sense for your skin.
And you need a routine that supports your barrier instead of constantly fighting against it.

My skin is still very much a work in progress. I deal with breakouts, hormonal flare ups, oil flow through the T-zone, and a little melasma too. That’s exactly why I wanted to share the products I genuinely reach for in my own routine.

Not because they’re “perfect”.
Not because they magically fix everything overnight.

Because they help keep my skin calm, supported, balanced and resilient over time.

Inside this carousel I’m sharing:
• The products I use most consistently
• Why I use them
• How I support breakout-prone skin without over-stripping it
• The extras I rotate in depending on what my skin is doing

Healthy skin is rarely about doing more.
Most of the time, it’s about doing the right things consistently.

If your routine feels confusing, overwhelming, or like it’s no longer working for your skin, send us a DM and we’ll help guide you toward a routine that actually makes sense for your skin and lifestyle.
