Hi everyone! I've noticed some new followers on this lil page of mine so thought I would drop in and say WELCOME! 🌸✨
And for those who have been following for a while, thanks for being here! I am excited to announce that I've taken a step back from life's utter madness to focus on the things that truly inspire and drive me, which this business is a huge part of.
I've found it difficult in previous years to find the faith and trust within myself and my business (particularly using Facebook as my platform) to be sufficient and live comfortably on my own terms. But this year I'm feeling a shift, and I'm very excited to offer my services while being fully present with this platform, my creativity, and my community!
So if you've been feeling the call to transition into a dread head, or your existing locks need some loving, please consider me and my magic-making hands!
I am fully qualified to tend to your needs, and have 8 years of experience behind me... In that time I have learnt the art of being extremely GENTLE while effectively and permanently locking in those loose hairs, I'm often complemented on my pain-free technique.. I take such pride in this, and I know it is reflected in every beautiful strand on my clients heads.

Some wise words from my teacher! 🧡

A MESSAGE TO ALL WHO DON'T LIKE TO BE JUDGED BY THE COLOUR OF THEIR SKIN BUT ARE HAPPY TO JUDGE OTHERS BY THE COLOUR OF THEIRS.......A MESSAGE TO BRING PEACE

I've been off social media this year so far. I went on holiday to relax. When I got back I found a long stream of hateful comments on one of my pages photos on Instagram..... it has been very shocking to read such a stream of negative comments, towards myself, my business and my clients and students, people who the commenters don't even know.....WHY?

This is a message to those people, sent with love, with the aim of spreading love, not hate...

Why do you spend your precious time writing negative comments, spreading negative thoughts and words. WHY?

Why do you judge a person or business by the colour of people's skin?

Why do you think dreadlocks are just for one race, one skin colour?

Why do you choose to see it as negative that people of many races around the world like dreadlocking their hair?

Why not instead see it as a compliment, if you think one race only owns dreads?

If your best friend is white, but had a deep spiritual desire to have dreads, would you judge him or her in a negative way & say that they can't have dreads?

If you wish to dye your hair blond - would you appreciate hate messages?

Please think about what you are doing!

If you don't want to be judged negatively by the colour of your skin, why do you judge others in a negative way by the colour of theirs?

If you don't like racism, why are you being racist?

If you don't like hate, why are you hating?

Did you know that if you read up on the history of dreadlocks they were first found on people of quite a few different races?

Egyptians were one of those races, and YES we totally agree and pay homage to the fact that people with African heritage and afro hair ROCK DREADLOCKS and carry a huge history with them, but if you think that nobody from other cultures is entitled to have dreads then you should think some more.

The remains of people with dreads have been found in similar times on Indian peoples, Celts, Greeks, Druids, Aztecs and Polish tribes from as early as the Egyptians, as far back as 1400BCE.

Lord Shiva was created from source, as a God in India, even before 1400BCE and there are millions of Indian Sadhus that have had their hair locked from the beginning of humanity.

In the beginning of human time, we all originated from the same source anyway.

Do you realise that we are living in the 21st century? Do you realise it is time to move on from hate and negativity?

Do you want to perpetuate one of the flaws of humanity where people think they are entitled to something, but others not?

Do you think you can only be a pizza chef if you come from Italy?

Do you think you can only play soccer/football if you are from British blood?

Do you like it if someone says you shouldn't wear a certain style of clothing, have a certain job or wear a certain hairstyle because of your race or colour?

Do you like it if someone says to you, that you can't do or be something because of the colour of your skin?

Well we don't!

That's why in the Divine Dreadlocks Tribe we don't see colour of skin, we see the colour of people's souls.

We don't judge others, we encourage others to be happy and positive and kind and do the best they can to create their own best life.

We don't hate anyone, but we do dislike "hate speech" and racism.

We focus on love and positivity.

It's the only way to heal old wounds, the only way for humanity to move forward from the wrongs of the past.

The only way for a peaceful future!

Martin Luther King, Jr. said:

"Look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin"

then realise that WE need to BE the change we wish to SEE! And that is how change happens.

I encourage you to start living by this, everyday, as much as you can and I promise, life will start to feel happier. Pull up others if they are being negative towards you because of the colour of your skin or your race. If negativity is due to behaviours of a person, that's different, then you better your behaviour, if it's due to no other reason than race or colour, it's not right.

A History of Dreadlocks was written by Kenneth Byrd - An African American Hair blogger, I will end with his final paragraphs...

"Dreadlocks are so much more than just a hairstyle. Dreadlocks are associated with an extensive line of historical adoption dating back centuries, across different cultures, traditions, and religions.

Some links are scientific and utilize archaeological data, while others are based on superstitions and folktale stories.

The more you know, the more you realize that Black people aren’t the only ones that can take claim to locs – they are much more widespread than most people think!"
