How often do you hear the word resilient these days? As a high school teacher I hear it most weeks of the year. So what does it mean? It means being able to pick yourself up when you fall down. It means not following every trend or suggestion made to you without question. It means not believing everything that others say about you. It means having self-confidence. We all want that for our kids, don’t we? 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 So the question on all of our lips is - how do you raise resilient kids in today’s world? Let me give you 3 steps you can start taking today to increase the resilience of your child in this blog 👉 https://bit.ly/EO_Resilience.

MYTH: Giving kids everything builds resilience
TRUTH: Protecting children from all discomfort doesn’t prepare them for life.
REASSURANCE: Support + honesty builds strength far more than perfection.

💚 Let’s gently bust a common myth many of us grew up believing.
Resilience is built through everyday moments, not perfection.
If this topic has been on your mind, I’ve shared some simple, practical support in my free resources.

🤝 Do your children know who they can turn to for support?

We talk about trusted people - a grandparent, an aunty, a family friend, a coach. As kids grow, this network naturally changes, but having it early helps them feel safe and supported.
Resilience isn’t built alone.

💚 If this feels familiar for you too, you’re not alone.
I’d love to know what this looks like in your house right now.

If you are thinking that motherhood is harder now than it has ever been before, you’re not alone. There are so many more pressures on mums these days, most of them put there by ourselves or through social media. It’s a hard world to navigate when most mums don’t have a nearby village to help them find their way. Motherhood needs to be modernised to support new mums finding their way in their world today. Read how I propose to improve the motherhood journey for mums everywhere here 👉https://bit.ly/Modernise_Motherhood.

Co-parenting is hard work - even when the parents are still married. Think about it - you have two individuals who have lived their own lives by their own rules for an increasingly longer period of time before they decide to get married. They learn to adjust to each other’s habits (good and bad) and learn to live with each other quite harmoniously. Then they decide to add children to the mix - so they’re now not sleeping well, not eating well and trying to do too many things in the time they are awake each and every day - no wonder things become tense quickly. If your parenting partnership needs a reset, read more about the 3 steps required to come back and parent together, happily here 👉https://bit.ly/3StepsParenting_Blog.

We’ve all got some aspect of ourselves that we’d like to change and improve. It might be our commitment to exercise, meditating each day, taking the kids out for some fun each weekend or simply start reading a book each night before going to sleep. 90% of new intentions fail due to one thing - new habits are never put into place so therefore don’t happen. Setting the intention is the easy part - making it happen every day is the hard part. Read more about this crucial missing step here 👉 https://bit.ly/EO_Change.

MYTH: You can teach resilience in one lesson
TRUTH: Resilience is learned through experience, not lectures.
REASSURANCE: None of us do this perfectly, we’re all practising.

🌿 How do you encourage gratitude in your family?
At our dinner table, we often share something we’re grateful for from the day. We model it first, because kids learn far more from what we do than what we say.
Gratitude helps build optimism and hope, both of which are important parts of resilience.

💚 If this feels familiar for you too, you’re not alone.

Time together as a family can be rare these days. It really needs to be a priority on a weekend or the holidays as both parents and children get so much benefit from spending time together. The connections that are made while spending time together will help children build their resilience and teach them skills they need for the rest of their lives. One challenge during family time is making sure that all the individuals are getting what they need at some stage. Discover the other challenges and read about the solutions here 👉 https://bit.ly/EO_Quality_Time.
