Mortal Kombat II was a tough job & (along with some others from the Prosthetics team) not receiving a credit has been quite sad. Baraka was a challenging character but we were fortunate that .bloomfield was an absolute legend to work with & the main application team of , & myself were a strong team; despite the challenges we faced. Please check out the last slide of .bloomfield singing Wheatus’ ‘Teenage Dirtbag’ in full costume & makeup to get a vibe of his charming presence.

Baraka meant 01:30am call times & a 4 hour makeup, followed by his stunt double in the exact same level of makeup. 8 hours later, we would step on to set for a full day of filming. Post-wrap, & I would seam & pre-paint all the pieces for the next day, while had the task of casting & gluing all of the teeth in a very specific order.

For his arm blades, made carbon fibre plates with embedded rivnuts & cast fibreglass copies of his bone blades. These bolted through to the rivnuts, through a prosthetic that blended off at the wrist & elbow. The blades were a 3D print pulled a quick silicone mold off, which was also used for casting soft foam versions. I painted them up to best match the hero set.

Our whole workshop team was under the pump & it was great to have friends you can rely on when you need it - , , , , & .scot. Talented bunch of professionals!

It could be an incredibly stressful environment at times but feeling proud of the work our team did. The reception to Baraka has been fantastic to see.

All work for HOD , concepts by Seth Justus & sculpts by Prosthetic Supervisor .

& I molded a bunch of real guns under armourer’s supervision for ‘Play Dirty’. We cast both hard & soft rubber for various needs. I molded & cast all of ’s guns featured in the film amongst others. This is a small selection of guns I completed myself.

When faced with making an imitation ice sculpture over 2ft tall, & I decided to use Clear Flex 95 so we could pour solid with no observable shrinkage or yellowing. The 3.3ft luge was sculpted in , then cast in Clear Flex 95 with an acrylic tube cast in for the interior surface. Stalactites were cast in Crystal Clear and attached with UV resin. ‘Play Dirty’ out now on .
