Is your baby’s head shape uneven?

Some parents may notice a slight flat spot or uneven shape on their baby’s head and wonder if it’s normal.
This is a common condition - plagiocephaly and is often due to a baby spending long periods in one position or favouring one side when turning their head.

Check out our latest blog around - plagiocephaly. We share what Julie learned from her recent paediatric seminar. We also discuss how early assessment, positioning and home strategies can make a big difference for your baby’s comfort and development.

In our latest blog Mark and Julie share a little about their European adventures.

Mark and Julie flew to Barcelona for the kids Summit - A leading paediatric chiropractic conference. Julie was one of the organisers and delivered an outstanding presentation.
The conference drew attendees from U.S., Europe, Australia and Beyond.

The conference was a great success sparking new connections, techniques and ideas, as well as raising lots of money for research.

Once the conference was completed - the real holiday could begin.

Welcome back Mark and Julie!

Fibromyalgia- what is it and what can be do to help you feel better.

✅If your body constantly aches
✅Your sleep is broken
✅Feeling wiped out even after a full nights sleep, you’re not alone.
You may be dealing with fibromyalgia.

It’s a condition where the brain and nervous system become extra sensitive to pain.
Even small triggers, like gentle pressures, stress, or poor sleep can cause your brain to register pain, even when there’s no real damage.

What actually helps? Well there are few things
✅Gentle movement like walking or yoga
✅Manual therapy and chiropractic care
✅Stress reduction techniques
✅Consistent sleep and lifestyle routines
✅And most importantly - education and support

How does chiropractic make a difference
Many patients report better sleep, clearer thinking and even improved digestion after starting chiropractic care.
That’s because spinal and manual therapy can help reset the nervous system - calming the brain’s pain response and giving your body a chance to heal.

Head to this weeks blog to find out more about fibromyalgia.

Check out our latest blog on PREGNANCY AND PELVIC PAIN.

Around 70% of pregnant women experience discomfort around their pelvis and spine. The good news? You don’t have to just ‘put up with it’.

Your body is releasing relaxin, a hormone that softens joints and ligaments, especially around your pelvis.
Your posture changes as your belly grows, placing extra strain on your lower back.

Signs you might have pelvic girdle pain:
> Deep pain in your buttocks or pelvis
> Discomfort when rolling in bed or standing up.
> No pain below the knees (this is usually NOT sciatica)

Strength training or resistance training might just be the most important things you can do for your health as you age.

In a recent episode of the ZOE Science & Nutrition podcast. Dr Brad Schoenfeld, a world leading expert in resistance training, shares insights that really struck a cord.
He discussed how as we age, muscle loss isn’t just about looking less toned, it’s about losing the strength we need for daily life.

In this week’s blog we share some exercises that you can do at home to help.

- Chair squats
- Wall push-ups
- Standing calf raises
- Resistance band rows
- Biceps curls (with tins or water bottles)
- Marching in place

Consistency is key, start slow and gradually build up as your strength improves.

In clinic grip strength testing - All July!

We’re inviting ALL our practice members to test their grip strength when they visit the clinic throughout July.

- We’ll measure how your grip compares to average values for your age and gender.
- We’ll give you feedback, plus tips on how to improve it.
And YES there’s a prize for the strongest gripper in each age group!

Why does grip strength matter?
Studies have shown that grip strength is one of the strongest indicators of health and independence later in life.
- It reflects your total body muscle mass
- Predicts heart and brain health
- Signals nerve function
- Reduces risk of falls, frailty and disability
- And believe it or not it’s strongly linked to how long you’ll live!

Read our latest blog to find out more about grip strength, tips on how you can improve it and how you can participate at home with a dead hang challenge.

Have you ever wondered if your exercise routine still suits your age and stage of life?

This week’s newsletter was inspired by the fascinating episode from The ZOE Science & Nutrition Podcast titled “Why your workout should change with each new decade”. Former pro athlete Gabby Reece and nutrition expert Dr. Federica Amati, discuss why it isn’t just okay - but essential - to shift your workout routine as you move through life.

In your 20s & 30s: Build the foundation
- Strength and muscle development
- Cardio fitness
- Flexibility and skill building

In your 40s & 50: Adapt for longevity
- Maintaining lean muscle
- Joint mobility and injury prevention
- Low impact cardio and functional movement

In your 60s & beyond: Move for independence
- Strength for daily life (getting up, climbing stairs)
- Balance and coordination
- Gentle endurance

Mark and Julie who are both still going strong at CrossFit, often say “ train for the life you want to live”.
Whether you’re in your 30s or your 70s, there’s a way to move smarter, not harder - and we’re here to help you find it.
