So what actually is dermal filler?

Dermal filler is a hyaluronic acid based gel that we use to treat deeper lines, volume loss and dehydrated skin on the face.

Hyaluronic acid is a clear substance that is naturally produced by your body making it safe and effective to use for anti ageing purposes.

It can be used a as non surgical option to reshape areas such as the lips, cheeks, jawline or chin. It can also be used as a skin booster treatment to aid in dehydration all over the face. This results in a clearer complexion with fewer fine lines and wrinkles.

Any medical treatment comes with risks so ensure you are seeing a medical professional such as a registered nurse or doctor that has a deep understanding of facial anatomy 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

How do PDO threads work?
1. Topical anaesthetic is applied to the the treatment area for client comfort
2. A number of threads will be carefully placed under the skin
3. Threads are made from PDO (polydioxanone) which is the same suture material that’s used in surgeries
4. After the threads are in place, they are pulled back, leaving the PDO In place to tighten the area treated
5. As the threads dissolve over a 6 month period, collagen and elastin production is stimulated to improve fine lines and wrinkles

The most common areas for anti wrinkle injections are the forehead, frown and crows feet (the upper mask)

These areas are our most expressive on the face and are the fastest to age 😢

Luckily with anti wrinkle injections every 3-4 months, we can prevent these lines all together OR deeper lines from forming.

Why can’t I drink alcohol after my injectable treatment…? 🍷

This is a common question asked by many clients and the reason is prolonged healing and increased risk of swelling/bruising. Alcohol consumption can cause blood cells to enlarge and blood to thin resulting in bruising.

Avoid alcohol 24-48 hours pre and post treatment for best results 😉
