The Hydroponic Farm Under Barangaroo’s Office Towers - Surry Hills News Inside a Barangaroo car park, Urban Green Sydney uses hydroponics, LED lights and coconut coir to grow microgreens for nearby restaurants.

McDonald’s is continuing its bid to open a restaurant near Redfern Station and has proposed to cut its trading hours as part of an appeal on the disapproval of its development application.

The amended proposal also includes updated retention of heritage features, new bicycle parking, and a redesigned waste area. A new crime prevention report also details the reduced trading hours, proposed CCTV installation, lighting, staff controls and a redesigned entrance.

McDonald’s Appeals Refusal of Redfern Restaurant Plan - Redfern News McDonald’s is continuing its bid to open a restaurant near Redfern Station and has proposed to cut its trading hours, as part of an appeal on the disapproval of its development application.

Community members and heritage advocates are calling for the preservation of a landmark mural at the former Sydney Fish Market, arguing the artwork should be saved before redevelopment of the Blackwattle Bay site begins. Created by artist Keith Howland in 1990, the ceramic mural has overlooked the fish market for more than three decades.

There are plans to transform the former market precinct into a new residential neighbourhood that will include more than 1,500 homes.

Sydney's "Front Door to Central" Is Finally Getting the Renewal It's Needed for Years - Redfern News Belmore Park's concept design for renewal has been endorsed, bringing better lighting, larger lawns, new garden beds and an amphitheatre space to the park opposite Central Station, with construction expected in 2028.

🔬 In a Darlinghurst lab, scientists captured a remarkable sight: immune cells surrounding and engulfing live melanoma cells.

The discovery by researchers from the Garvan Institute and UNSW Sydney highlights a previously overlooked group of immune cells that may help slow tumour growth.

The finding is particularly significant in Australia, where almost 20,000 people are diagnosed with melanoma each year and about 1,300 die from the disease.
