Sometimes what appears to be a single lump turns out to be more than expected once surgery begins.

Larger fat bags under the lower eyelids often mean a more noticeable healing process, but the end result is well worth it.

This patient had significant bulging fat beneath the lower eyelids, which was removed under local anaesthesia. As a general rule, the bigger the fat bags, the more swelling patients can expect afterward, and this case was no exception, with swelling peaking as usual around day 2.

Reassuringly, swelling settles fairly quickly, with a noticeable reduction by the end of the first week. Further improvement continues gradually over the following weeks, and we'll assess the final result closely when she returns for her 6-week follow-up.
