Nikki's Makeup Tip #5

You don't always have to use makeup where it says it's used for. 💄

For example I often use cream eye liner as black lipstick because I don't have black lipstick. 💋

You could use blush as eyeshadow, I've actually used eyeshadow as blush. 😊

Experiment!
You never know what can be used for what, and it's always fun to find out. ❤

(I did that lip with a mix of blue eyeshadow and lip gloss.)

What's your favourite beauty product? 🤔

Mine is my Stoned eyeshadow palette from Urban Decay. ❤

The box is SOOO pretty and the colours transfer really well and are really sparkly. ✨

So you've done your makeup. 💄

Now you need to remove it, what do you use to remove it? 🤔

Here's my two favourite things to remove my makeup ❤:

1. Cotton rounds drenched in Micellar Water (cotton bud sticks for the eyes).

2. Thin Lizzy's Aloe Extract Makeup Remover Wipes.

If you're getting married but have hay fever, getting flowers for your wedding can be a little stressful. 😰

But there are a few flowers that are apparently good with those with allergies. 💐

Here's 3:
1. Roses 🌹
2. Tulips 🌷
3. Carnations ❤

Did it rain on your wedding day?
If it was an outdoor wedding, how did you cope?

Just a little tip for today.

If you get lash extensions you can't put on false eyelashes, and you need to be very careful with what mascara you put on.

Most makeup artists won't touch your eyelashes if you have eyelash extensions.

So beware of that when you get eyelash extensions, if you plan to go to an event and want falsies.

Are you a member of the LGBTQI+ community, and want to get married in a church but are not too sure which ones will accept you?

Here's a list of 3 different churches in NSW that are 100% accepting of anyone from the community. 🏳️‍🌈

1. Metropolitan Community Church - Petersham ❤

2. Pitt St Uniting Church - Sydney 💙

3. The Open Door Community Of Christ - Penrith 💜

Are you planning your wedding? But don't have a father figure, so are dreading the idea of the father/daughter dance? Well not to worry, I have a solution! You can do what I plan to do one day, and dance with your mum. If you have a lovely father inlaw you could dance with him. If you have other relatives, like an uncle you could dance with them. Or you could skip the dance all together.

Hey guys, I have quite sensitive skin and there's a lot of moisturisers I can't use, if you have a similar issue or are looking for a new moisturiser, here are my top 3 suggestions:
1. Cetaphil - so cetaphil is a good moisturiser, it's one that is used in the industry a fair bit. I use it on my clients, however I don't use it on myself as I'm quite sensitive to it.
2. Kryolan Dermacolour Moisturiser Cream - it's good, quite soft and gentle on the skin, and I like it. It feels quite nice on the skin but it is a little expensive so use it sparingly. ❤
3. Sorbolene Cream - I use this on my skin too as I'm not sensitive to it. It works quite well in removing makeup, so don't use it as a skin prep before applying makeup or your makeup will slide right off. When I use it I feel like it gives me quite a lot of moisture back into my skin, and it makes my face feel a little firmer. I like to have a slightly damp face before using it and massage it into my skin. It will be a bit visible at first, so let it dry, then you won't be able to see it, but your skin will feel nice. ❤

My photos from my final assessment photoshoot have finally come in. The first is inspired by Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas and Disney's Descendants, my interpretation of what I imagine Jack Skellington and Sallys child to look like. The second is a Carnevale inspired look. The third is a Gaelic Faerie inspired wedding look (yes Mum looks beautiful!!! ❤❤❤) Thanks to Jasondudaphotography for taking the photos and Patricia Callen for being my model. ❤

Today's makeup tip is not my own but still a good one. According to expert MUA Val Garland ❤ (who is one of the judges on Glow Up currently showing on Netflix.) The best and quickest way to get a perfect winged liner, is to take a pencil and create an imaginary line from your nose to the end of your brow on a diagonal. Then following that imaginary line draw a line with an eyeliner brush and eyeliner (of your choice) from the bottom of your brow bone all the way in to the centre of the eyelid. Then come back and start at the inner corner of the eye and pull that liner brush across the eyelid, close to the lash line. All that will be left is to check if it looks good and tidy it up if need be.
