Not all ageing looks the same, and genetics are a significant part of why.

Intrinsic ageing is the biological process driven by genetics and time. Collagen production slows, bone density reduces, fat compartments shift. This happens regardless of lifestyle or environment, and the rate at which it occurs is largely inherited.

Extrinsic ageing is driven by external factors. UV exposure, smoking, poor nutrition, chronic stress and sleep disruption all accelerate the process independently of genetics.
