We wanted our first major shoot to be more than just pretty pictures—it needed to capture the true purpose and vision of Stòrí of Africa.

Nothing you see in these frames happened by accident.

From casting Ruth to honor the heritage of the continent where our raw shea butter grows, to sourcing hand-woven A*o Oke cloth and the Senufo stool, every single element was chosen to reflect our roots.

Building this brand from scratch takes a lot of heart and constant refining. Thank you for being here for these early chapters.

Swipe through to see the purpose behind the process. 🤎

Episode 2: How Do You Shea?

This is how I used shea butter as a kid — and I am not embarrassed about any of it.

Growing up, shea butter was just — what was in the house.

It was not a trend. It was not a beauty product. It was the thing my family reached for. For everything.

This is Episode 2 of 'How Do You Shea?' — a fun look at the quirky ways people use our products and where that relationship with shea butter really started.

How did you use it growing up? Tell me in the comments — I know I am not the only one.

If your skin is still tight and dry an hour after moisturising — here is why.

Most moisturisers are water-based. They feel good immediately because water temporarily plumps the skin surface. But water evaporates. And when it does, your skin is left exactly where it started — sometimes drier than before.

Shea butter is an emollient. It works completely differently.

Rather than sitting on the surface, it physically fills the spaces between skin cells — sealing moisture in and preventing it from escaping. It does not evaporate. It stays working.

Our Stori Shea Balm combines unrefined shea butter with six African botanical oils that pe*****te the deeper layers of the skin.

No fragrance. No sulfates. No parabens.

Shea butter comes from the nut of the Shea tree — a tree that grows wild across West and East Africa. It can live for up to 300 years.

The nuts are harvested by hand, cracked open, boiled, and slowly churned by women using techniques passed down through generations.

What comes out: rich, creamy, and extraordinarily good for the skin.

Vitamins A, E and F. Anti-inflammatory. Deeply moisturising. Fast-absorbing.

Africa has known this for centuries.

At Stòrí of Africa, it is the hero ingredient in everything we make.

Stori of Africa was built on a simple but powerful idea: that African self-care traditions deserve to be celebrated, preserved, and shared — with the integrity and depth they have always deserved.

Not just the ingredients. The people who have held that knowledge for centuries. The communities that nurture it.

Every product we make is an expression of that commitment.
