Did you know there are two types of shea butter — and they are not the same thing?
Refined shea butter is white, odourless, and shelf-stable.
Unrefined is cream, yellow, or beige with an earthy, nutty smell and a slight graininess that tells you the nutrients are still in there.
The difference matters for your skin — especially if you have eczema, dry skin, or are highly sensitive to fragrance.

Not all headwrap fabrics feel the same. And that difference matters more than you might think.
The wax cotton prints — the ones you probably know best — are versatile and easy to work with. Soft, flexible, forgiving when you are figuring out a new style.
The Basin — Mali's hand-dyed fabric — is a completely different experience. It is starched. When you pick it up, it has a crisp, structured quality. It holds its shape. It pushes back a little when you try to fold it. Tying it takes more patience, and more confidence — but when it is done, it sits differently too. More presence. More architecture above the head.
And then there is the handwoven fabric such as A*o Oke or Kontri Kloth. These fabrics require more skill and time to perfect the look. Great for special occasions.
Each fabric is a different conversation.
