Debra Freeman Artzone

Giving in to her creative urges in her mid twenties she continues to produce colourful images of natural wonder. She studied under Nigel Thompson who is an Archibald and two times Sulman winner. She has exhibited successfully in the U.S. and U.K. and at home. Debra grew up and still resides in Sydney’s northern beaches area and draws her inspiration from nature’s wondrous beauty and believes that every moment in nature is individual and endeavours to capture those moments on canvas for prosperity. She was the official artist for the variety club of Australia for several years prior to her U.S. exhibition tour. During which time she painted the portraits of many celebrities on behalf of the Variety Club - including John Newcombe, the late, great Ricky May, Alan Jones, John Singleton and the also late great Sammy Davis Jr. Most of these paintings were auctioned off, enabling the club to raise thousands of dollars to be used for the good of the children the charity supports. (The Sammy Davis portrait was later posthumously auctioned separately in the U.S. and sold for over $100,000).
