Global Recycling Day …. Yes this baby deserves not one post but two!!! Each one of us can do so much, with very little effort on our part, but with a huge impact on the environment!!
- before you buy it, do you really need it?
- can you use it again?
- can you use it again but in a different way?
- if you can’t reuse or repurpose can you recycle it?

I can still make massive advancements personally with the 4 R’s … but here are a few businesses that I have used to reduce what goes to landfill (no affiliation to any of them!)

✅ Gumtree or Marketplace- if you don’t need it anymore someone else might. Advertise it for free. One man’s rubbish is another man’s treasure
✅ - keep a bag at home and pop your soft plastics in each time you use them then just take them back to next time you go
✅ LOVE this company. Subscribe and once a month they’ll pick up for free two bags of your tricky waste to get rid of including unwearable clothes (which can’t go to charity), batteries, unwearable sports shoes and a whole heap of other things

Today is world recycling day 🙌🏻 however there are 2 more very important stages before recycling…REUSE and REPURPOSE ✨ Before you put something in for recycling or landfill, maybe just pause for a moment to see if you can reuse or repurpose it?

Reuse examples
- single use plastic bags
- takeaway food containers
- drink bottles

Repurpose
- coffee jars into storage jars
- jam jars into vases
- Christmas cards into cards for shopping lists
