Before you expand into Asia, know this. 🌏
Communication is direct. It’s yes or no. Numbers are clear. Replies are fast. Relationships matter and both sides lean in to make it work.
In the West, it’s formal emails, layers of approvals and slower decisions. Different systems, different pace.
If you understand the culture, you move smarter. 🤝
Blink of an eye 😭
Doing business in Asia hits different. 📱🌏
In Korea and China, deals move on WeChat. Documents sent. Replies instant. Pop up built. Done. Service is full stack and fast.
In the West, it’s emails, forms, portals and waiting days for replies. Everything is split between ten suppliers.
Same goal. Completely different systems. Speed vs process.
Before you do business in Asia… prepare your liver. 🍶
Deals aren’t closed in boardrooms. They’re built over dinners, tea, KTV and long nights of bonding. In many Asian markets, relationships come first. Trust the person, then the business.
In the West, it’s policies, structure and formal meetings. In Asia, it’s connections. If you want to scale there, build the relationship first. 🤝
Being a mum and an entrepreneur isn’t balance, it’s sacrifice. 👩👧👦💼
If you can afford it, outsource help. Buy back your focus. There’s no “me time”. You choose your kids or yourself, and burnout is part of the journey. Build support at home. Train your partner. Protect your time.
When your home runs smoothly, your business scales faster.
It’s hard. But it’s worth it.
Japan isn’t like the West. 🇯🇵
You can’t just walk into retailers or go direct. You need a distributor. Even global giants go through one. Japan trusts existing relationships, not new brands.
Want a shortcut? Check the back of product packaging. It tells you which distributor they use. That’s your entry point.
In Japan, business runs on structure and trust.
One $20 video made $3.8M in 8 months. 🤯
We had no budget. No clue. Just knew social media was our only shot at free exposure. We posted 500 times in six months with nothing to show for it. Then one video blew up. 18M views. The creator cost $20. That’s it.
Consistency looks stupid… until it works. 📈
We went viral in America because of racism. 😳
“You’re trying to be white.” That was the comment. But who decided what beauty should look like? Tanned skin is praised. Double eyelids in Asia are normal. Beauty is defined differently in every culture. In the US we faced criticism. In Korea we received support. Same product. Different audience. 🌏”
